Learn from the Experts!

Presented by David Patrick, chairman of the task group in charge of revising NACE Standard MR0175 for 16 years, and Jim Gossett, a member of the MR0175 task group for a number of years and now a member of NACE Task Group 299, the "Oversight Committee" for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Maintenance Panel that proposes revisions and answers questions on NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, "Petroleum and natural gas industries--Materials for use in H2S-containing environments in oil and gas production," this seminar will teach you how to select materials using this worldwide standard.

for You Asked for It!

Following publication of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 in December 2003, the ISO Maintenance Panel has provided interpretations for almost 75 inquiries submitted by users of the standard. Responding to needs voiced by U.S. and international users alike, an ISO working group and the NACE task group spent seven-plus years revising MR0175, particularly the requirements for corrosion-resistant alloys (CRAs), because of the increasing use of existing alloys and development of new alloys. Many users have had questions and requested information on the changes and how to use the new standard.

Back to Where It All Began!

Around 50 years ago sour gas was discovered in western Canada; a small group of engineers in Calgary began documenting field experience, leading to the technical committee reports on which the original Standard MR0175-75 was based. NACE is presenting this seminar in Edmonton to acquaint both new and experienced users with the changes made to revise older editions of MR0175 and the new format and requirements of NACE MR0175/ ISO 15156. In this one-day seminar, experts will present information including the changes and background for them; the differences between NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 and earlier editions of MR0175; how to select materials using the new standard; and case studies that will include attendee participation in working up solutions. Included in this seminar, you will receive a binder containing the following information:

· · ·

All presentation materials Copies of NACE and ISO standards (180 pages!) Question and answer printout

The seminar includes four sections and covers the following items and more:
