Refugee Reemployment Transition Center (RRTC) Program Case Manager

Nationalities Service Center (NSC) is seeking a case manager. NSC, a non-profit organization founded in 1921, provides legal, social and educational services to immigrants, refugees, and non-English speakers. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in social work or a related field. Some case management experience is preferred. Strong computer skills required, especially WORD and EXCEL. Knowledge of issues within the immigrant and refugee community is required, especially issues related to employment. Applicant must be willing to work as a team member and have excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. Former immigrants or refugees are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities 1. Social service case management and information and referral services for refugees and asylees searching for employment 2. Conducting intake and assessment, tracking progress and needs of clients and their families. o Communicating with third parties, such as employers, relatives, school officials, welfare staff, etc. on behalf of the clients, and assisting in the transportation of clients to doctors' appointments, social security offices, etc if necessary o Maintaining accurate, timely and orderly case and database records and preparing reports in a timely and accurate manner. o Advocating on behalf of the clients and those similarly situated within NSC and throughout the broader community. 3. Work with department director to conduct outreach to promote program and recruit participants o Conduct outreach to clients through participation in outside events and distribution of material within the community including ethnic and community fairs, ethnic churches and other sites frequented by immigrants and refugees. 4. Conduct all activities within State, NSC and EDSI guidelines. 5. Actively participate in weekly case meetings and other departmental, agency, community and provider meetings, as needed. 6. Attend regular conferences. 7. Prepare all monthly and trimester reports. Attend monthly reporting meetings with department director 8. Receive referrals, schedule and confirm intake appointments. 9. ° Completing all forms as required by state ° Discussing client career goals and interests ° Referring client to RRTC at EDSI Coordinate service provision with Refugee Program Manager at EDSI Attend Quarterly PRRPC meetings Attend monthly meetings with DPW to discuss TANF clients Maintain all required data in CWDS, including receiving DPW referrals, accepting referrals and enrolling TANF clients in job search activity Collect time sheets and report job search hours through DPW/CWDS system
