The Fund was created in partnership with the CleanTech Alliance Fund, which will co-invest alongside NEC in projects targeting attractive returns and the creation of American jobs. The CleanTech Alliance Fund is managed by Piper Jaffray Private Capital in Minneapolis, MN. New Energy Capital, which focuses on providing equity to small and midsized projects utilizing proven clean energy, clean water, and waste management technologies, has invested in renewable energy and efficiency projects since 2004. Previous investments include ethanol and biodiesel production facilities, biomass power facilities, and industrial cogeneration projects. "We are working closely with the CleanTech Alliance Fund team to build U.S. infrastructure that will reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, expand the use of renewable energy and recycled materials, and improve the efficiency of our economy," said Scott Brown, Managing Partner of the Fund.
