MV Transportation, Inc. wins City of Santa Clarita transit contract

(Santa Clarita, CA June 10, 2008) The City Council of Santa Clarita voted unanimously to award MV Transportation, Inc. a $51.7 million contract to manage and operate its transit services. Under the terms of this threeyear contract (with seven oneyear renewal options), MV will operate the City's commuter, fixedroute, dialaride and ASI transit services. Also, MV will be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of 99 buses, including CNG, diesel and gasoline vehicles. "This is a very exciting project for MV," said Kevin Klika, President of MV's West Coast Operations. "The City is moving forward with several innovative and technological advances to their transit services, and MV's unique expertise in this area will certainly complement those efforts." Over the past two years, the City built an award winning "green" facility from which MV will operate. Also, MV will work closely with two Teamster unions to ensure the drivers, dispatchers and maintenance employees are receiving the best benefits available. Mr. Bryant Worley has been assigned as General Manager of this project. Bryant comes to MV with more than 25 years of extensive fixed route experience. MV wins this award from the incumbent Veolia. Based in Fairfield, California, MV is the largest private provider of paratransit services and the largest privatelyowned transportation contracting firm in the United States. The company employs more than 11,000 dedicated transit professionals and operates more than 180 paratransit, fixedroute, shuttle and Medicaid contracts in 24 states. ### Contact: Nikki Frenney, VP of Communications Phone and fax: 7078638739 Email: [email protected] Website:
