Steve Jobs Biography 'iSteve: The Book of Jobs' Available for Pre-Order

Apple fans can now pre-order Walter Isaacson's exclusive biography of Steve Jobs. Titled "iSteve: The Book of Jobs," the 448 page book is published by Simon & Schuster on March 6, 2012 and comes in two versions - hardcover and Kindle digital format. We reported earlier this year that after refusing several high-profile authors, Steve Jobs accepted in 2009 to have former Time executive Walter Isaacson write his official biography. In April, the book's publishers confirmed it was coming out in 2012. Those who are eagerly anticipating it can pre-order a copy starting today. Amazon is selling the hardcover version for $18 with an expected delivery date of March 6, 2012. The KIndle edition has not been priced yet. "From bestselling author Walter Isaacson comes the landmark biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs," reads the book's description. "In iSteve: The Book of Jobs, Isaacson provides an extraordinary account of Jobs' professional and personal life. Drawn from three years of exclusive and unprecedented interviews Isaacson has conducted with Jobs as well as extensive interviews with Jobs' family members, key colleagues from Apple and its competitors, iSteve is the definitive portrait of the greatest innovator of his generation." For those who want to learn more about the author, Amazon has a few details on Isaacson, such as his current position as CEO of the Aspen Institute, and his work as chairman of CNN and the managing editor of Time magazine. Key titles he authored include Benjamin Franklin: An American Life, and Kissinger: A Biography. He is the coauthor of The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made, according to Amazon.com. Isaacson currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and daughter. Interviewed on the subject of Jobs allowing an author to finally write down his biography, Jonathan Karp of Simon & Schuster said in a statement, "This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world's greatest innovators."
