Reference: Various Errata No.: 1-06-1

The Committee on the Uniform Fire Code notes the following errors in the 2006 edition of NFPA 1, Uniform Fire Code. 1. In Table 1.12.20(a), insert an additional Permit Required Cross Reference for High-Powered Rocketry as "65.7.2." 2. In Section 2.2, add a reference for "NFPA 271, Standard for Heat and Visible Smoke Release Rates for Materials and Products Using an Oxygen Consumption Calorimeter, 2004 edition" and add a reference for "NFPA 601, Standard for Security Services in Fire Loss Prevention, 2005 edition." 3. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, add "NFPA 20, Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection, 2003 edition." 4. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, add "for definitions only" to the entry for NFPA 68, Guide for Venting of Deflagrations. 5. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, add to NFPA 69 "for definitions only." 6. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, add "NFPA 70, National Electrical Code©, 2005 edition." 7. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, after NFPA 88A, Standard for Parking Structures, 2002 edition, add "for definitions only."

8. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, change NFPA 90A, edition from "2006" to "2002." 9. In Section 2.4, References for Extracts in Mandatory Sections, add "NFPA 271, Standard for Heat and Visible Smoke Release Rates for Materials and Products Using an Oxygen Consumption Calorimeter, 2004 edition, (Chapter 19)." 10. In Subsection 5.3.3(5), revise the reference from "18.3" to "18.2.3." 11. Delete the asterisk from 31.3.2.1. Add an * to paragraph 31.3.2.2.2 and reassign the Annex text for "A.31.3.2.1" to "A.31.3.2.2.2." 12. In paragraph 34.6.3.1, revise the reference from "Chapter 4" to "Chapter 41." 13. In paragraph 42.2.3.3.2.3, revise the reference from "42.3.4" to "42.2.3.4." 14. In Subsection 51.1.1, delete the reference standards "NFPA 86C" and "NFPA 86D" from the paragraph. 15. In Table 60.1.3.1, revise the footnotes for "Consumer fireworks" under the StorageSolid/Pounds column from "c, j, k" to "g, h, k." Also in Table 60.1.3.1, revise the third classification scheme for the "Organic peroxide" row under the "Class" column for "II" to "III." 16. Following 60.1.3.3.1, add the following paragraph numbered as 60.1.3.3.1.1 to read: 60.1.3.3.1.1 Special Controls Required for Increased Quantities. Where quantities of hazardous materials are increased in accordance with 60.1.3.3.1, such materials shall be stored in accordance with the following limitations: (1) Storage and display of solids shall not exceed 200 lb/ft 2 (976.4 kg/m 2) of floor area actually occupied by solid merchandise. (2) Storage and display of liquids shall not exceed 20 gal/ft 2 (76 L/m 2) of floor area actually occupied by liquid merchandise. (3) Storage and display height shall not exceed 6 ft (1.8 m) above the finished floor. (4) Individual containers less than 5 gal (19 L) or less than 25 lb (11 kg) shall be stored or displayed on pallets, racks, or shelves. (5) Racks and shelves used for storage or display shall be in accordance with 60.1.2.19. (6) Containers shall be approved for the intended use. (7) Individual containers shall not exceed 100 lb (45.4 kg) or a 5 gal (19 L) capacity. (8) Incompatible materials shall be separated in accordance with 60.1.2.17. (9) Except for surfacing, floors shall be of noncombustible construction. (10) Aisles 4 ft (1.2 m) in width shall be maintained on three sides of the storage or display area. (11) Hazard identification signs shall be provided in accordance with 60.1.2.11.2.

In Table 60.1.3.3.1 (a), change heading from "Physical Hazard Materials: Nonflammable and Noncombustible Solids and Liquids" to "Physical Hazard Materials: Nonflammable Solids, and Nonflammable/Noncombustible Liquids." 18. In Table 60.1.3.3.1(b), revise footnote b from, "Where footnote b also applies," to "Where footnote c also applies." 19. In Table 60.1.3.3.1(b), revise footnote c from, "Where footnote a also applies," to "Where footnote b also applies." 20. In Subsection 70.2.6.3, change the extract reference from "[430:6.2.7]" to "[430:6.2]." 21. In Annex A.66.1.1, revise the cross-reference from "See A.1.4.2" to "See A.1.3.2." 22. In Table H.5.1, revise the heading of the fourth column by deleting the third entry "III(000)1." 23. In Annex I.1, revise the reference from "Annex J" to "Annex I." 24. In Annex L.2.3.2, change the title of "UL 263, Standard for Safety Fire Tests of Fire Resistance of Building Construction and Materials" to "UL 263, Standard for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials." 25. In Annex P.2.1, add a missing reference "NFPA 70, National Electrical Code©, 2005 edition".
