Communion Life and Ministries Welcome to immo

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:7

We are happy to welcome you this day into the family of Nimmo United Methodist Church. Your time with us is an opportunity for us to share God's love and to offer ourselves in the spirit of Christ in any way that we may be of service to you.

In United Methodist tradition, everyone is welcome to receive the elements of Communion, regardless of Church affiliation, attendance, or age. In this congregation, those wishing to receive the elements are invited to kneel at the table. If you are unable to come forward, please inform the ushers and the elements will be brought to you. The bread and grape juice are offered to all, as a sign of God's unrestricted grace.

Disciples are initiated, encouraged, and challenged through various courses and programs offered. You are invited to be a part of these avenues of Christian growth!

Baptism

Infants and Adults are baptized during the Sunday morning Worship Services. The covenantal relationship with God is symbolized by the practice of baptism in any of three modes: sprinkling, pouring, or immersion. The pastor will answer any questions you may have regarding baptism for you or your children.

History and Hope

Since 1791, Nimmo Church has had a rich history in Princess Anne County. A brochure with a detailed description of our history is available in the Church's narthex. We want to invite and include you in our life and fellowship, and we also hope to form and enable them to live as Christians in the midst of a rapidly changing society and world -- one in which you may well find yourself "strangers in a strange land." Should there be an immediate need or concern that you would like to make known, cards are available in the pews for this purpose; simply place them in the offering plate. We look forward to the next hundred years of service and witness of Jesus Christ.

Worship

We have two services each Sunday:

8:30 AM 11:00 AM A ursery is available during both services.

Welcome, we're glad you're here!

Our worship time is centered in the reading and proclamation of the Word. The Worship Planning Group consciously tries to include Traditional, Gospel, and Contemporary Music in each service. In the United Methodist tradition, prayers and other acts of worship come from a variety of sources. Lay persons assist in leading our weekly services, and they regularly bring a unique combination of gifts and graces to this ministry.
