Dinah (Daisy) Wainer Berins died on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at The Hampton at Post Oaks in Houston, Texas, where she was evacuated as a result of Hurricane Katrina. She was 92. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 32 years. Prior to living in Metairie, she resided in New York City for 35 years. Beloved wife of the late Guerry Berlinski Berins. Mother of Bernard Berins and wife Jane, Howard Berins and wife Carmela, and Leonard Berins and wife Bridget. Grandmother of Amy Berins Shapiro and husband Marc, Deborah Berins, David Berins, Julie Berins Gillis and husband Jim, Edward Berins and wife Stacey of Coral Springs, Florida, Richard Berins and wife Randie of Coral Springs, Florida, Rebecca Berins Schwarz and husband Matt of White Plains, New York, and Mark Berins and wife Rachel of Houston, Texas. Great grandmother of Lily and Zachary Shapiro, Jordan Schwarz of White Plains, New York, and Brittany Berins, Amanda Berins, Jessica Berins, Brandon Metz-O'Donnell and Samara Metz-O'Donnell, all of Coral Springs, Florida. Daughter of the late Hannah Lichtenstein and Harry Wainer. Sister of Rose Wainer Mansberg, Lester Wainer and the late Uri Wainer, George Wainer, Sarah Wainer Berger and Manny Wainer. Graveside Funeral Services were held at the Tikvat Shalom Cemetery in St. Rose, LA with Dr. Elliot Finkelstein officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shir Chadash Conservative Congregation or Hadassah.

Mrs. Billie (Ann) Caimi, age 68 years, of Waveland, MS; wife of the late Frank Caimi, Jr., died Monday, August 29, 2005 at home during Hurricane Katrina. She was a native of Poplarville, MS and resident of Waveland, Mississippi for 23 years. Daughter of the late Dorsey Bourne and Elizabeth Like. She was a beloved mother and loving grandmother who will be treasured in our hearts and minds forever. Her survivors include her two brothers, Robert Bourne of Bay St. Louis, MS and Reggie Bowen of Pine, LA; her son, Jesse Frank Bulloch of Biloxi, MS; her three daughters: Cynthia Lehmann of Pope, MS, Maria Miller of Waveland, MS and Sue Johnston of Fort Worth, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Percy P. Dupuy, Jr., manager of Auto Title Clearance for 43 years, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the age of 63. He is preceded in death by his father, Percy Dupuy, Sr. Mr. Dupuy is survived by his beloved wife Elaine Ransome-Dupuy; sons, Michael J. and his wife Patricia G. Dupuy, Chris A. and his wife Melanie K. Dupuy; daughter, Jennifer A. Dupuy; mother, Beulah B. Dupuy; brother, Alton J. George Washington (Rickie) Eggins, Jr., a resident of New Orleans, departed this life on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 4:00 PM at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was the devoted son of George Washington Eggins, Sr. and Alberta Allen Eggins; and Loving Step-Son of Patricia Williams Eggins. Devoted Father of Rickie Dwayne Wells of Baton Rouge. Stanley Benson Green, a retired sales engineer, died at his home of bone cancer on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the age of 87. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Samuel J. Peters High School and attended LSU and Tulane University's. During World War II he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, flying twenty-one missions as a navigator on a B-17. After his plane was shot down over occupied France, he spent eleven months in a German POW camp. He was a member of several veterans organizations and a past member of the Holy Name Society and the American Legion, and he was a parishioner of St. Pius X Parish. He is survived by a daughter, Katherine Guccione; and three sons, Stanley, Jr., Kendall; and Robert Green; and by seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd., Metairie, LA. Harry A. Heinz III, was a faithful husband, loving father and adoring grandfather who loved and served the Lord with all his heart. He was a 36-year employee of General Electric Co., and a Christ-like example of putting others first. He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dad fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. (II Timothy 4:7) An electrical engineer, a resident of Prairieville, LA and a native of Metairie, LA, he died at his residence on Thursday, October 20, 2005. He was 59 years old. He is survived by his wife, Merilyn H. Heinz; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathlynn Heinz and Rebekah and spouse Blaine McCorkle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Heather Heinz, Michael and Sarah Heinz and Matthew and Julie Heinz; and two grandchildren, Gracie and Emma McCorkle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. Heinz Jr. and Rosemary Heinz. He was a member of Chapel on the Campus Church. Ethel Lynn Hock, age 76 years, died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Cabrinni Hospital in Alexanderia, LA after a short illness. A professional photographer and businesswoman, Ms. Hock operated Newcomb Camera & Art Center in Alexandria for 49 years and was noted for her historic photo displays. Born in New Orleans, LA, she graduated Newcomb College in 1951. She is survived by her partner, Joyce Sutter; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Henrietta Hock of Maryville, TN; nieces, Suzanne Mac Morris of Elizabeth City, NC and Sally Brooks of Louisville, KY. Marie Antoinette Panfield Farwell died on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX. She was 89. Born in Boston, Mrs. Farwell resided for most of her life in New Orleans. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. David J. Farwell, a Professor of Medicine at L.S.U. Medical School and veteran of World War II. She was the mother of James P. Farwell and Marie Dennette Farwell. George N. Jensen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amy Desseree (Dee) Jensen. His place of birth was Elsinore, UT. He died Saturday, October 15, 2005 of heart failure at the age of 87. He was a veteran of WW II and worked in Navy Civil Service, a volunteer at Slidell Memorial Hospital for several years and a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Slidell, LA. He is the father of, Neil Jensen, Shiela Thompson, Vickie Abbott of Slidell, Phyllis Dillon of Talisheek, and the late Rena Kay Porter of Richfield, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and a sister, Frances Kreitemeyer of Stockton, CA. Preceded in death by a sister, Ardella Gregory of Las Vegas, NV and a brother Victor Jensen of Penryon, CA.
