MARCH 2011

March 8, 2011

Dear NPG Agents and Manufacturers, Over the past year, NPG has been working to align our use of color standards by reducing the number of color service companies and the amount of custom colors used within the brands. In support of our recent organizational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness, Pantone has become NPG's primary color standard service for creating color palettes. Effective immediately, Agents and Manufacturers are responsible for purchasing Pantone color standards. Agents and Manufacturers can order Pantone color swatches from their local Pantone distributors. The Pantone website lists the local Pantone distributor information: Color standards need to be ordered in a timely manner so that the lab dipping process starts on schedule. Pantone color formulations are available at These can be used as a starting point for lab dipping.

NPG has aligned its color related business processes across NPG brands to support both the art and science of color. Two internal teams have been created to centralize NPG color responsibilities: o The Creative Studio Team researches color trends and manages the color palette o The Color Operations Team ensures color accuracy and consistency

Beginning with the Spring 2012 development season, the Color Operations Team will track all solid color approvals, Designers will track non-solid and trim color approvals, and Print Technicians will track strike-offs and print approvals. The Color Operations Team will also: o Communicate the initial Color Palette to Agents and Manufacturers o Communicate the Brand Color Palettes with Pantone TCX numbers and color names for the season o Provide color standard spectral data at the beginning of each season o Continue to send physical swatches of non-Pantone color standards or other color sources

Please refer to the chart below for your Color Operations Team member and main contact for approvals and questions on all solid color fabrics and yarns:
