Preserving the History of Auto Racing in Northern California

N EWSLETTER --M AY 2010

Hello members of the Northern California Auto Racing Alumni ! Wow, does time fly ! It's time again to vote for the Hall of Fame recipi ents. Again this year we three categories: · Drivers · Officials/Track Employees · In Memoriam There is an abbreviated set of biographies for the nominees in this news letter to help you remember names you might not recall off the top of your head. There is also a more complete set of biographies on the NCARA.ORG website follow the "2010 Hall of Fame Nominee's Biogra phies" link from the home page. The nominees have come directly from their peers and represent the top talent in motorsports and auto racing from the northstate. This year's re cipients will be inducted at our two traditional BBQ's Sept. 25th, 2010 at Shasta Raceway Park in Anderson during the festivities for the Pop Porter Memorial Race. The date of the second event hasn't been determined yet, but it will be at or near the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. We'll keep members and fans updated when a date is set. Last year's awards ceremonies were extremely touching events. Friends reunited, new friendships as hundreds of people came together to honor the heroes of our sport. Highlights of the events included Francis and Tim Clark posthumously accepting the plaque for Sherman Clark and the humorous acceptance speech of the indefatigable Denton Hill as he accepted the Founder Cup trophy. You can find a complete list of last year's inductees on page 3 of this letter.
