APPLY BASIC MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE TOPICS IN WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH (WSH)

INTRODUCTION

This module focuses on application of mathematics and scientific principles in WSH, such as calculation of forces, load, energy, pressure and ventilation. Participants who are certified to be competent for this module will be placed in the "WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health" course (SD in WSH), with the provision that they have also met the assumed skills and knowledge required of the SD in WSH.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

To enable the participants to have the knowledge and skills to identify basic chemistry and physics principles and use mathematical and statistical tools in WSH

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Individuals who wish to pursue the "WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health" programme but do not possess a recognised engineering or technology Degree or Diploma (Information Technology qualifications are not considered).

COURSE CONTENT

· · · · Solving simultaneous equations; Exponents and logarithms Trigonometry; Probability Boolean algebra; Statistics Present and future value; Unit conversion

Successful applicants will be given a module information kit which includes essential information prior to the commencement of course.

REFUND POLICY FOR WITHDRAWAL

Students are liable to pay full course fees. There will be no refund / waiver of miscellaneous and insurance fees due to withdrawal or deferment. All appeals for refund or waiver of tuition fees due to withdrawal or deferment must be made in writing to the Director, CET Academy. Each appeal will be assessed and processed on a case-by-case basis. Guidelines for refund or waiver of tuition fees are as follows: Appeal Received Before course starts After course starts Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents No refund / waiver of Fees Foreigners Refund / waiver of 75% of tuition fees, on valid grounds**

** Valid grounds include medical leave and overseas company assignment.

NB: In the event that courses are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, full refund of course fees will be given. Minor amendments to enhance the course may be necessary. In this context, refunds are not allowed.
