Obituaries. Bob Heenan passed away on the 9th December 2010. Bob won the coveted Silver Plough Trophy in 1957, the second person to achieve this honour, beating all the experienced ploughmen. Bob was very young, entering the competition with his own home manufactured two point linkage plough, which was shipped to the USA for him to compete with in the World Contest that year. Our condolences to Bob's wife, Heather and family.

*********** James Johnston passed away on the 26 November 2010. James was a leader in the organizing committee for this years final at Clinton and will be sadly missed. Our condolences to James' wife, Heather and family. ***********

2010 Annual match

The Reporoa/ Rotorua Ploughing Association held it's match on October 2nd on the property of Alan & Alison Wills. The event also doubled as the North Island Championship. The day was fine and warm and a big field of ploughmen made an occasion of it. The paddock was sprayed out pasture and according to Elvery Hunt, who returned to plough after an absence of many years, significantly easier to plough than what he remembered the pumice to be. 7 in the Conventional & Reversible class 9 in the Vintage class 3 Horse teams Continued on page 11.

All this has been achieved with considerable increase in sponsorship dollars. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all Sponsors for their valued support and we look forward to a long and profitable association for both parties.
