Los Angeles, CA -- March 31, 2011 -- Long time music industry veterans Cheryl Pawelski, Greg Allen, and Brad Rosenberger have announced the launch of the music company, Omnivore Recordings. The new label recently inked distribution deals in North America with EMI, and in Europe has partnered with Ace Records UK. Omnivore Recordings will officially debut their first two music releases on "Record Store Day" with a special, limited-edition LP of Big Star's "lost album" titled Third and a Buck Owens 7", featuring early and unreleased recordings, available worldwide on April 16, 2011. The company will continue to release new projects throughout the year including previously unissued recordings from Townes Van Zandt and Leon Russell, with additional projects to be announced soon. Founded in 2010 by highly respected industry veterans Cheryl Pawelski, Greg Allen, and Brad Rosenberger, Omnivore Recordings' vision is to preserve the legacies and music created by historical, heritage and catalog artists while also releasing previously unissued, newly found "lost" recordings and making them available for music-loving audiences to discover. Along side the record releasing division, the company has also been developed to provide archival and product development services to artists, labels and estates on a consulting basis. Three-time GRAMMY-nominated producer, Cheryl Pawelski has for the past twenty years been entrusted with preserving, curating and championing some of music's greatest legacies. Previously serving as Vice President of A&R at Rhino Entertainment, Vice President of Catalog Development at Concord Music Group, as well as posts at iTunes and EMI-Capitol, she has overseen hundreds of recordings, soundtracks, reissues and boxed sets for a diverse array of artists including: Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, The Band, Big Star, Miles Davis, Rod Stewart, Otis Redding, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson, Warren Zevon, Chicago, Stephen Stills, John Coltrane and many more.

A versatile graphic designer and photographer, Greg Allen has been active in the Los Angeles music scene for more than three decades. He has photographed artists across all musical genres including: Ray Charles, Rickie Lee Jones, Ringo Starr, George Benson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Earle, Brian Wilson, Beck, k.d. lang, Lucinda Williams and hundreds more. Previously he served as art director on projects for Rhino Entertainment, Concord Music Group, Warner UK and Vanguard, among others. Allen has designed boxed sets for John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Alice Cooper, as well as coffee-table books (The Stooges: The Authorized And Illustrated Story, Creem: America's Only Rock 'n' Roll Magazine), soundtracks (Sex And The City, Hairspray), and catalog reissues for Elvis Costello, Fleetwood Mac, and The Stooges. Brad Rosenberger was previously Senior Vice President, Catalog Development & Marketing for Warner/Chappell Music. During his 20+ years at the award-winning music publishing arm of the Warner Music Group, Rosenberger also served in a number of key positions, including Senior Vice President, Head of Strategic Marketing/Catalog Development and Senior Vice President, Film & Television, where he played an instrumental role in highly successful motion pictures, including Almost Famous, Lost In Translation, Magnolia, Good Will Hunting, Moulin Rouge, Sleepless In Seattle and The Departed. Most recently, Rosenberger brought together the musical talents of Brian Wilson and George and Ira Gershwin to create new songs from previously unfinished material for the recently released Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin album (Walt Disney Pearl) and is currently producing a biopic on the life of the Beach Boys' Dennis Wilson, The Drummer, slated for release this fall, and a movie based on Hilly Kristal, the founder and owner of legendary New York club CBGB.
