Customer Panel - Business Benefits with Oracle Business Intelligence - Customer Success Story In-Memory Data Warehousing: Bringing Real Time to Big Data

Abstract

In this panel we will have the presence of clients from public and private sectors that use Oracle's business C intelligence solution for consolidation of information, operational reports and geo-referenced analysis in support for the business. Big data requires parallel processing and scalability, but many have ignored the elephant in the room: latency. Inmemory solutions often deliver low latency but only for--by today's standards--very small data volumes. This session discusses how Oracle Database 11g in-memory parallel execution delivers parallelism and low latency on very large volumes of data for complex analytical needs. You will learn

This session discusses and highlights how Oracle Solaris uniquely enables you to get the most out of the Oracle engineered systems Oracle Exadata, Oracle Exalogic, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster. You will learn about key Oracle Solaris features including Oracle Solaris Zones and network virtualization and how those features help to virtualize Oracle software such as Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Fusion Middleware. The session also demonstrates how Oracle Optimized Solutions can help you quickly go from concept to implementation with these technologies with the least amount of risk. Java EE 7 Overview and Oracle GlassFish Server Update This session covers the current status of Java EE 7, presenting an overview of new and updated specifications. It also addresses how Oracle GlassFish Server will be introducing these features in the course of upcoming releases and highlights some features for improving developer productivity in general. Given the compute and I/O power of an Oracle Exadata Database Machine, consolidation of multiple Oracle Database instances onto the Oracle Exadata system provides a huge opportunity to reduce the operational cost of deploying these databases. But how do you support multiple databases on a single Oracle Exadata system? This technical session examines the best practices for supporting different releases and patch levels for the different databases by managing multiple Oracle homes. It also explores how resource management for the databases should be set up to deliver the required service levels by using Oracle Exadata's Database Resource Manager and I/O Resource Manager features and instance caging. You will also learn how a customer successfully used these techniques. SQL is arguably the world's most popular programming language today, and SQL database servers and systems are used in the majority of mission-critical business applications. However, many kinds of applications need many of its capabilities--such as transactions, concurrency, and high performance--usually associated with database servers but do not need the query flexibility (or overhead) of SQL. The Oracle Berkeley DB transactional key-value database engines are ideally suited for such applications. This presentation elaborates on the virtues of a simple key-value API and also discusses some typical applications and usage scenarios. More and more users are taking business intelligence content with them, receiving updates, and sharing information outside of the classic browser environment. Learn all about business intelligence mobile capabilities for iOS-based phones and tablets in the currently shipping Oracle Business Intelligence release (11.1.1.5) and Oracle's mobile strategy for business intelligence. This session also discusses the consumption of business intelligence content in an offline fashion as well as integration and manipulation of that information within Microsoft Office suite components. Enterprises are now managing employees' access to cloud applications and expanding their identity administration to include users in the cloud. Cloud providers that host applications must have user provisioning as part of their infrastructure. Some cloud providers are even planning to host identity administration as a service. Whether user provisioning is on- or off-premises, remote connectivity alone is not enough to provision user access. This session discusses how a provisioning gateway that supports identity administration to a controlled set of targets can enable a provider to expose administration services without "giving up the keys to the kingdom." In this session, find out about the latest enhancements and new features that have been added to Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Planning Suite over the past 12 months, plus get an inside look at the future product direction.

The First Complete Cloud Management Solution with Oracle Enterprise Manager In-Database Analytics: Statistics and Advanced Analytics with R

Take a plunge into the technical details of Oracle Exadata. After this session, you will understand what has been done to enhance and extend the database architecture and functionality of Oracle Exadata and how to take maximum advantage of the new capabilities. The presentation examines in detail SQL offload processing, I/O resource management, Oracle Exadata flash cache, storage virtualization, integration with Oracle Database, and the hardware and software architectures of Oracle Exadata. Get ready for a game changer. Attend this exclusive session for knowing firsthand how Oracle Enterprise Manager's advanced cloud management capabilities can put you on a fast track to enterprise cloud computing. R, an open source statistical programming language, is rapidly emerging as a tool of choice for advanced analytics. Although R and its community provide a flexible programming environment, advanced graphics, and access to a large number of "packages," its architecture limits its use for "big data" problems. The Oracle Database/R integration provides a scalable, open, in-database alternative to traditional statistical packages. This session demonstrates how R has been integrated with Oracle Database and Oracle Exadata to enable R users to analyze, visualize, and model terabyte-size big data in-database. The resulting R models can be operationalized for fast in-database scoring and integrated into IT workflows, Web apps, BI dashboards, and reports. Attend this session to hear the latest Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 upgrade planning tips gleaned from customers who have already performed the upgrade. You'll get specific, cross-product advice on how to decide your project's scope, understand the factors that affect your project's duration, develop a robust testing strategy, leverage Oracle Support resources, and more. In a nutshell, this session tells you things you need to know before embarking upon your Release 12.1 upgrade project. This session presents an overview of Oracle Unified Business Process Management Suite 11g. It also covers its current status and roadmap. Oracle Coherence is a powerful and sophisticated in-memory data management system ideally suited to meet the demands for high-speed and scalable access to data required by high-capacity modern systems. This presentation looks at how Oracle Coherence, initially adopted to meet a niche requirement, evolved to become the standard in-memory solution at a major financial services firm. It relates the various challenges encountered, both technical and organizational, and the steps taken to address them by a high-performancecomputing team. The Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite can protect your core business applications from unplanned and planned downtime, boost user productivity, and deliver up to twice the batch processing performance, along with support for up to four times as many online users. In this session, learn how the Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite integrates SPARC Supercluster, Oracle Solaris Cluster, Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center, Oracle Database 11g, and Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) to create a solution that improves system performance and availability while reducing implementation and administration costs. Hear about Oracle's vision and roadmap for value chain planning and share customer success stories. This presentation provides an overview of Oracle's planning applications and strategy for prospective as well as existing users. It includes demos of the products. Database cloud is an alternative deployment model with significant advantages for deploying a database-in-acloud environment. It is based on and leverages advanced database capabilities, and many customers are already leveraging its capabilities. A database cloud environment based on Oracle technologies can support mission-critical database deployments and extreme scalability requirements as well as efficient and flexible deployment and consolidation of databases. This session discusses current capabilities and best practices used to deploy database as a service (DaaS) for private as well as public cloud environments. C
