1. INTRODUCTION.

The Horton Polar Extreme Drivemaster single speed fan clutch used on the P2 uses spring engagement and compressed air disengagement of the clutch. Spring engagement acts as a fail--safe preventing loss of fan operation if air pressure is lost. This group covers required tools, disassembly, rebuilding, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.

NOTE

When rebuilding or replacing a Horton Drivemaster fan clutch, contact Oshkosh Truck for availability of parts and parts kits. The fan clutch may also be available as a complete rebuilt unit to facilitate timely repairs.
