The genre your child will be studying this week is Realistic Fiction. Realistic Fiction has characters and events that are like people and events in real life. As you read look for realistic characters and events, and a main character who faces a challenge. The comprehension strategy we will cover the next two week will be reading ahead. When you do not understand what you are reading, read ahead to find an explanation, In Language we will study possessive nouns. Your child will be learning the following robust vocabulary words:

Library Books

Students may bring their library books home, but they should bring them back to school each day. We provide 20-30 minutes of AR Reading at school, however we expect students to read for at least 20-30 minutes each night. We use the Accelerated Reader program as the independent accountability reading practice portion of our reading program.

Relating Multiplication and Division 3. Multiplying 2 digit numbers 4. Word Problems about equal groups 5. Adding and subtracting decimals


Most students are spelling the words correctly and we would like them to also study the following Challenge words.
