Cut a diagonal slit (a) in carpet from right rear corner of rear blower motor (M2/ 1).

Measure (b) from center of rear edge of rear blower motor (M2/ 1) and (c) from inside edge of left front 40% seat carpet cutout (1) and mark carpet.

Cut (d) carpet toward left side of vehicle at mark. Cut should be centered on transmission tunnel.

Cut (e) carpet toward rear of vehicle from center of previous cut (d). Route video cassette player harness (2) and DVD player harness (3) under carpet from cutout behind rear blower motor (M2/ 1) to 40% rear seat carpet cutout (1). Leave harnesses in place for later routing underneath carpet. Do NOT route auxiliary interface board harness underneath carpet.

Route auxiliary interface board harness (4), video cassette player harness (2), and DVD player harness (3) together along top of rear ventilation duct (5). Route auxiliary interface board harness (4) along top of left branch of rear duct. Route video cassette player and DVD harnesses (2, 3) along top of right branch of rear duct. Secure wiring harnesses (2, 3, 4) to top of rear ventilation duct (5) with supplied foam tape (6). Secure video cassette player and DVD player harnesses (2, 3) to outside of center console mounting bracket (7) with supplied foam tape (6).

Route video cassette player and DVD harnesses (2, 3) up through carpet at cutout underneath 60% rear seat. Harnesses must be as straight and flat as possible in channels in transmission tunnel from front cutout to rear cutout.

Tuck rear cutout flaps underneath wiring harnesses. Secure blue video cassette player harness (2) and red DVD player harness (3) to 60% rear seat frame with supplied adhesive clips (8) and cable straps. White tape mark on video cassette player harness (2) and red tape mark on DVD player harness (3) indicate positions for clips and cable straps.

Place center console (1) on workbench. Protect center console to prevent damage and soiling.

Remove rear ash tray insert. Route harness (2) through left rear corner of ash tray housing. Plug harness connectors into auxiliary interface board (3). Insert auxiliary interface board (3) into proper position in ash tray housing. Secure auxiliary interface board to ash tray housing from underneath using supplied securing ring (4) and screw.

Secure wiring harness (2) to inside of center console using supplied foam tape (5). Ensure sufficient clearance for proper ash tray operation.
