Push-button control allows easy selection of loudspeaker equalization along with four independent programmable delays and limiters and signal routing.

What product does it replace?

The PANARAY System Digital Controller replaces the 802®C, 402®C and 502®C system controller for providing active equalization for our products. It can also be used in place of the FreeSpace® system controller in situations where paging is not required.

Dose Bose still make equalizer cards for these loudspeakers?

Why was the PANARAY® system digital controller made?

The PANARAY controller was made to consolidate our controllers into one unit for easy stocking, use and service. We also wanted a controller that could be updated rather than having to manufacture a new controller for each new loudspeaker. In addition to speaker equalization and crossovers, the PANARAY controller has delay, limiting and routing.

How do I use a PANARAY system digital controller?

You can use the PANARAY System Digital Controller the same way that you have used our other controllers, with the additional features of programmable delay, limiting and routing.

How does the router work?

You can choose full-range, and high- or low-pass combinations of signals for setting up two-way speaker systems.

What presets are preprogrammed into the PANARAY system digital controller?

The PANARAY System Digital Controller contains 180 preset individual Bose® professional loudspeaker equalization curves, equalization for all known combinations of Bose loudspeakers with Bose bass units, in mono or stereo, plus three special settings for MB4 bass arrays. In addition, there are four independent channels of delay with up to 200 milliseconds each. There are also four separate channels of limiting and a signal router to select full-range and high- or low-pass combinations of input signals.

How many inputs and outputs does the PANARAY system digital controller have?

The PANARAY controller has two input channels and four output channels.

How do I access the delay?

Each separate delay channel is 200 milliseconds and can be set and edited with the Delay key on the front panel.

How do I access the limiting?

You can choose from four independent output limiters and choose the parameters needed with the Limiter key on the front panel.

Will the PANARAY system digital controller lose its memory of presets in a power failure?

No, the memory is hard coded to the device so all your options will be retained. The settings you have chosen will also be restored when power is returned.

PANARAY® System Digital Controller

Are the delay and limiting settings tied to the presets once I set them?

The PANARAY® System Digital Controller will keep the settings you last chose when you power it on and off. In addition, both the delay and limiting exist in either of two states: preset or global. By using the Utility button, you can choose the delay and/or limiter to work as either Preset or Global. Preset means delay and limiting values will change to the stored defaults when you select a preset. Preset works this way: you select a preset, for example 402® and 502®B. You set the delay and limiting the way you want it. You power the unit on or off, and the settings remain. You select another preset and the delay and limiting selections are erased even if you go back to the first preset. Global means delay and limiting values will remain no matter which preset is selected. Global works this way: you select a preset, for example 402 and 502B. You set the delay and limiting the way you want it. You power the unit on or off, and the settings remain. You select another preset and the delay and limiting selections are exactly the same for any preset you choose. The delay and limiting functions are changeable in this mode but you are changing it for all presets when you edit it.

Can I use this with speakers that don't require active equalization?

Yes, you can assign "No EQ" to any output channel as needed. You can use it as a combination distribution amplifier, limiter and delay unit.

Can I program the equalizer in the PANARAY System Digital Controller?

No. The PANARAY System Digital Controller has a COM port for with a 5-pin Din connector. When there is a software upgrade, the controller can be updated by downloading the newest software into the box via this port.

What is the sample rate of the PANARAY System Digital Controller?

The sample rate is 44.1 kHz.

Are the input and output channel balanced or unbalanced?
