Connect ABB AC80/800/4xx to ACV/DCV700 PE-Solution

Scenario 6 The plant is being upgraded. The customer has invested in an ABB AC800 system. There is however a number of ACV/DCV700 in the plant that the customer is going to keep. ACV/DCV700 is communicating via DriveLink. Since AC800 has no DrivLink interface we need a converter to provide that interface. The solution is the Protocol Converter PE1376 from Processelektronik AB.

The existing controller, the APC unit, is removed. The optical distributor is kept if you are going to connect more tha one (max 4) ACV/DCV700 to PE1376. The software in the old APC unit is transferred to ABB AC80/800/450 control system. There is no application program in the PE1376. Necessary setup is done with dip switches. Communication on ABB DDCS protocol PE1376 is slave on the DDCS protocol. PE1376 can be connected with 1,0mm plastic fiber POF or 200µm Hard Clad Silica HCS fiber.PE1376 can be connected to the DriveBus board (AC80 or AC800) or to the ModuleBus. Connection to AC450 via FCI unit.

Drive Link Communications PE1376 is Master on ABB Drive Link Protocol and can handle up to 4 ABB ACV700/DCV700. PE1376 can be connected with 1,0mm plastic fiber POF. Transmission speed 1,5 Mbit/s. PE1376 witout cover plate
