The firm offers the following cost consultancy services: Pre-Contract Services Preparation of feasibility studies and analysis of various design considerations. Preparation of cost estimates and base cost planning from sketch designs. Detailed design monitoring in relation to the accepted schematic and cost plan in order to set an allowable expenditure budget. Contract documentation involving drawing up of conditions of contract, tendering schedules for calling upon various tenderers, adjudication of tenders and assistance with the appointment of contractors and various sub-contractors. Specialised Services Complimentary to traditional Quantity Surveying services the firm offers the following specialised services : Contractual Advice Minimisation of the risk of contractual claims through the selection of the most suitable procurement system for the envisaged work. The clients' objectives are analysed to provide the most cost effective and risk free procurement route to follow when considering terms of scope, cost, time and quality Financial Audits Projects are sometimes negotiated with a grouping of 'in-house' companies and placed on a cost re-imbursable basis. Projects also often extend their pre-defined contractual and budget limits, invariably where cost control procedures are inadequate. The project or financial audit provides a report on the contractual efficiencies, contractors' and consultants' performances, as well as their accountability and professional integrity Claims Advice Disputes often arise from the interpretation of contractual documents and related events. Facilities Management Consultancy Services Asset data collection with a focus on refurbishment, archiving of existing building elements, materials and redecoration schedules. The Company has a working relationship with 'Zonkizizwe Facilities Management' (separate profile available upon request) which is a newly formed company specialising in the introduction of systems and procedures, to enable effective asset management, including cost control and real-time reporting procedures. Primary Resource We boast a complete innovative approach in the delivery of our services backed by modern state of the art technology and comprehensive software. Our measure of resource capability is completely production and performance based rather than the traditional manual intensified approach. All documentation is generated and processed on computers using the latest software for various applications. Examples of computer software presently in use include; QS Plus 2000, ENG Plus 2000, WinQS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project.

Salaried / Permanent Staff N. L. Lenono, BSc. QS She obtained her BSc (QS) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2004 and is presently studying towards her MSc (Property Development) on a part time basis, at the same institution. Work experience to date includes measuring of quantities for, and the preparation of tender documents, tender adjudications and recommendations, preparation of monthly interim payment certificates, monthly financial and progress reporting, attendance and interaction of project related meetings. Computer knowledge includes working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as WinQS. Projects worked on include petrol stations, clinics and local community development schemes. H. Olivier He has worked exclusively for professional Quantity Surveying Practices since beginning full-time employment in August 1995, gaining experience in; the measuring and preparation of Base Cost Plans, Bills of Quantities / Contract Documentation, preparation of interim valuations, attendance of project-related meetings, re-measurement of quantities for and agreeing of Final Accounts with Contractors. He has gained experience on various types of projects, which include both building and civil works; schools, office blocks and office parks, mining works, roads, taxi ranks, exclusive housing, mass housing and hotels. Computer knowledge and skills including working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as Win QS and QS Plus.

Contract Staff Keith Wood Is a registered member of both the Council and Association of South African Quantity Surveyors. He obtained his RICS accreditation in 1969 at Reynolds and Young Chartered Quantity Surveyors, London, England. In 1989 he was made partner at Southby Bihl Detert & Slade (SBDS). His experience is diverse and briefly includes; all forms of construction projects (both Building and Engineering), Project and Construction Management, measurement of quantities, compilation of tender documentation, management of contracts (either as a Professional Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager), agreeing and settling of Final Accounts and so on. Types of projects worked on include; Office accommodation, Housing schemes, Industrial and Educational facilities, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Mining Engineering. Computer-Related Expertise Comprises: 1.Compilation of programs relating to Space and Cost Norms 2.Marketing, operation and development of software for Quantity Surveyors, Engineers and Contractors Secondary Resource Quantity Surveying Africa will voluntarily associate with other professional firms, eg Venn & Milford Incorporated when necessary for resource capacitation and joint-venture obligation fulfilment.

Quantity Surveying Africa offers a choice of forms of contract and the form best suited to the client will be used. Joint Building Contracts Committee 2000 Series Agreement also known as JBCC, Joint Building Contracts Committee 2000 Series Housing and Minor Works, Agreement and Schedule of Conditions of Building Contract, also known as WHITE FORM, General Conditions of Contract Agreement for Civil Engineering Contracts also known as THE BLUE BOOK, New Engineering Contract, also known as NEC and Fidics International Construction Agreement, also known as FIDICS. We will adapt to any form of client based contract, like state enterprise form of contracts, government form of contracts and organisation based form of contracts.

The firm carries indemnity insurance blanket cover of R 2,000,000.00 per cliam (unlimeted per policy period) renewable on an annual basis.
