INCI name (CTFA name) Quaternium-80 Chemical and physical properties (not part of specifications) Form Type Appearance Properties ABIL® Quat 3272 and ABIL® Quat 3474 are used in conditioning shampoos and hair rinses. These products are substantive to the hair keratin. They improve combability of wet and dry hair, electrostatic charge is reduced and the hair becomes silky, shiny and manageable. ABIL® Quat 3272 and ABIL® Quat 3474 which are of high molecular weight are well compatible with anionic surfactants. Application ABIL Quat 3272 is preferred for use in shampoos, shower and bath preparations and liquid soaps. In skin cleansing preparations the interaction of ABIL® Quat 3272 with skin proteins provides a refatting effect that imparts a smooth and supple feel to cleansed skin. In hair care formulations the long dimethicone chain of ABIL® Quat 3474 provides gloss and pleasant, non greasy after feel to hair.

ABIL Quat 3272 or ABIL Quat 3474 is mixed with anionic surfactants, water insoluble components and solubilizers. The mixture is diluted with water. Then TEGO® Betain, watersoluble ingredients, thickeners and TEGO® Pearl are added. Recommended usage concentration ABIL® Quat 3272: 0.2 - 2.0 % in shampoos and skin cleansing preparations 0.5 - 4.0 % in hair rinses ABIL® Quat 3474: 0.1 - 1.0 % in shampoos and skin cleansing preparations 0.2 - 2.0 % in hair rinses Packaging 200 kg drum
