Director of Business Development

Position Overview To develop and nurture strategic relationships with existing and new businesses, negotiate and promote membership benefits and look for opportunities to bring tourism to our community. Essential Job Functions Negotiate annual insurance benefits. Welcome new businesses to community in person. Organize new business ribbon cutting. Liaison between Dutchess County Tourism and Community to bring traffic to our business community. Develop, negotiate and promote cooperative buying. Plan curriculum and organize educational seminars for members. Negotiate discounts for members within local business community. Work with SCORE. Maintain a minimum of a two person committee. Non-essential Job Functions Provide committee reports and ongoing updates to 2 nd Vice President. Update Board Members at monthly meeting on any open activities. Director of Events

Position Overview To coordinate and oversee all aspects of hosting an event promoted by the Red Hook Chamber of Commerce. Essential Job Functions Collaborate with 1st Vice President in establishing a calendar of events and provide to recording secretary. Secure sponsors, hosts and speakers for each event two months prior to event date. Coordinate, along with office manager, venue for each event, i.e. Food, beverage, price, time, and place 1 month prior to event date. Create event agenda, i.e. speakers, presentations, etc. Manage/Supervise Event Communicate essential event information to 1st VP weekly. Provide Board of Directors with updated event information at monthly board meeting. Provide Office Manager with event information to be posted on ChamberMaster. Maintain a minimum committee of two. Non-essential Job Functions Collaborate with Director of Communication and Publicity for each event. Collaborate with Director of Business Development to secure event sponsorship, etc. Collaborate with Treasurer to decide appropriate pricing for event. Treasurer

Position Overview Responsible to oversee and monitor the financial activities of RHCOC programs and to make recommendations regarding financial policy and controls that will help assure its continuous viability. Essential Job Functions Maintain bank account. Develop annual budget and report budget/actual monthly to Board of Directors. Maintain a minimum of two budget committee members. Chair the finance committee who consists of President, 1 st VP, Treasurer and Treasurer elect. Along with finance committee, prepare and report budget for RHCOC, including individual Directorships. Financial reporting and management. Review financial viability of each RHCOC program/event with Director of Events. Prepare and present Semi-annual/Annual financial reports. Work with office manager on internal, external and structural expenditures. Non-essential Job Functions Collaborate with President on any treasury issues of importance. Collaborate with all Directors in keeping within their budget for events, publicity, promotion, etc. Work with Director of Events to manage event, ie: take event fees at door. Director of Community Events

Position Overview To coordinate and oversee all Red Hook Chamber of Commerce Community events as established to date, assist in generating fundraising ideas for events, and decorate village seasonally. Essential Job Functions Organize and host Spring Egg Event, Halloween Festival and Winter Festival. Fundraise for events if funds in budget not adequate. Coordinate with town and village in organizing events. Coordinate with Red Hook School District to promote children's events and allow us to host events at their locations. Decorate village for season. Maintain a minimum committee of two. Report monthly to Board of Directors on event updates. Report to 1st Vice President with calendar, ongoing activity, etc. Provide event dates to Recording Secretary for calendar. Recording Secretary

Position Overview Responsible for the recording and distribution of all actions and decisions of the Board of Directors. Essential Job Functions Document and distribute agendas, meeting minutes and key actions of the Board and maintain history. Make available the minutes, bylaws, audits, and other essential documents. Provide calendar of programs and events, including board meeting schedule, standing committee meeting schedules, etc. to Office Manager for posting on ChamberMaster. Develop and maintain contact and distribution lists for Board and all committee members, and provide to Office Manager to be kept in central location. Non-essential Job Functions Collaborate with Pres and 1st Vice President on any minute issues or actions. Collaborate with all Directors in maintaining updated calendar. Director of Communications and Publicity

Position Overview Develop and implement a promotion and marketing strategy for RHCOC programs. Essential Job Functions Develop and implement a plan to promote RHCOC business programs and events. Ensure consistent messages are communicated on behalf of RHCOC. Communicate the program/event to prospective participants and potential contributors/ funders. Develop promotional materials. Manage press releases and announcements. Work with Dutchess County Tourism publications in promoting RHCOC Business. Participate in promotional activities. Evaluate effectiveness of Community Relations activities and materials. Provide articles for the RHCOC Newsletter. Maintain a minimum committee of two. Report to 2nd Vice President weekly on updates, pendings, etc. Provide monthly report to Board of Directors. Promote new business ribbon cutting event. Negotiate advertising costs of all aspects and work with business who wish to advertise. Website and ChamberMaster. President

Position Overview Lead and promote the RHCOC. Essential Job Functions Originate ideas for agendas and materials for Board and Executive Committee Meetings and provide to Office Manager for preparation. Develop goals and objectives for recommendation to the Board. Serve as the principle spokesperson and ambassador for the RHCOC. Represent RHCOC at business and community ribbon cuttings, grand openings, events, meetings, etc. Build partnerships with other organizations. Motivate and inspire volunteers to purposeful action. Direct the annual and long-term planning process. Fulfill the officer and committee responsibilities assigned to the President in the RHCOC By Laws. Provide written monthly President reports to the Board of Directors along with recommendations. Serve as the chief liaison with other chambers of commerce in the region and the State. Prepare and communicate RHCOC vision for the upcoming year in January of that year. Non-essential Job Functions Attract and retain members. Communicate regularly with 1st and 2nd Vice President to remain up to date on all daily aspects of RHCOC. Continuously promote the RHCOC with the chambers best interest in mind. First Vice President

Position Overview To promote the RHCOC, reside over daily activities and be second in command. Essential Job Functions Oversee the day-to-day operations of the RHCOC, office functions and personnel. Authorize and report bi-weekly payroll to accountant. Establish administrative policies and procedures for the office. Advise and Chair in the appointment of personnel to committees, task forces and help recruit volunteers. Fill duties of President in his/her absence. Part of Executive Committee. Acts on behalf of Chair for those committees 1 st VP is responsible for, in the Chair's absence. Represent Chamber at business and community functions, ie. Ribbon cuttings, grand openings; events, programs, etc. as notified by the Directors of Business Development and Events. Organize RHCOC annual January retreat to provide vision for upcoming year. Non-essential Job Functions Stay in constant communication with President and Second Vice President. Stay in communication with Directors who report; Directors of Events and Office Staff. Attend any committee meetings at his/her discretion. Update Board Members at monthly meeting on any open activities. Position Overview To promote the vision and message of the RHCOC consistently across all business and community participants. Essential Job Functions Oversee Director of Business Development and Director of Communication/Publicity. Support President and 1st Vice President in the absence. Part of Executive Committee. Acts on behalf of Chair for those committees he/she is responsible for, in Chair's absence. Attend committee meetings at his/her discretion. Keep in constant communication with Directors of Business Dev and Communication, and report when necessary to 1st VP and President. Represent Chamber at business and community events and programs. Be on committee that establishes administrative policies and procedures for office functions. Develop strategic plans to promote vision and message of RHCOC. Website Maintenance.
