CONFLUENCE - A WINE, BEER, SEAFOOD, MUSIC FESTIVAL COMMUNITY CHOWDER COOK­OFF Held in Gardiner during Confluence

Sunday, February 14, 2010: Noon-4 pm

Winners will represent Reedsport and Winchester Bay at the Florence Chowder Blues & Brews Festival October 2010

The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce urges you to participate in the Community Chowder Cook-off to be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from noon-4pm during Confluence 2010. The chowder winners from Reedsport and Winchester Bay will be selected by The People's Choice and will each represent their respected communities at the Florence Chowder, Blues, and Brews 2010 Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-Off Festival October 2010. The winners from each community will receive a Confluence 2010 Community Chowder Cook-off award plaque, press announcements with the local media, and the prestige of being the 2010 Community Chowder Cook-off winner (nothing like bragging rights). Contestants will receive 2 Complimentary passes to attend Confluence 2010 on Sunday, February 14, 2010.

Confluence Community Chowder Cook-Off

Sunday, February 14, 2010: Noon-4 pm

Requirements for All entries

Set-up 10am Sunday February 14, 2010 Entry Fee $10 8 gallons of Chowder for tasting 1 ounce taste samples Warmer 1-2 ounce ladle 1 ounce serving cups Tasting spoons Proper electrical cords (power will be provided) Cooling (NO refrigeration available) No kitchen facilities available Douglas County Health Permit Placement position will be by a random drawing Bring your own signage

Must comply with the Florence Chowder, Blues, and Brews 2010 Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-off Rules and Entry requirements

Available to participate at the Chowder Blues, & Brews Festival October 2010 in Florence Entry fee $50 Chowder must be a "Seafood" style Contestant required to supply 10 gallons of Chowder Larger soup warmer with insert Small ladle 1-2 oz. No identifying names or logos Contestant is responsible for: cooking pot, pan, utensils and clean up Being available throughout the contest (contest starts TBD)

Judging: Panel of 5 judges, all of who are in the culinary industry Judges will participate in a blind tasting Chowder will be scored on the following criteria: 1) Flavor & Taste 2) Texture 3) Appearance Prizes: 1st Place $1,000 cash and name on traveling trophy 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a cash prize and plaque People's Choice October 2010 time TBD winner receives a plaque award Please notify the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce by February 1, 2010 if you will be participating in the Confluence 2010 Community Chowder Cook-Off.
