PART 2B ­ POSITION REQUIREMENTS

2.1 ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT. Define the role of the position within the team, describing its leadership role, if any, it's

external/internal work relationships or contacts, the contextual environment in which it operates and the scope of supervision received, and where applicable, exercised by the incumbent.

The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the Individual Giving (IG) programme in PSFR Italy and making recommendations for strategy and planning of activities. The incumbent would supervise the PSFR Individual Giving team in Italy, under the direction of the PSFR Officer and with technical support and inputs from the International PSFR team at HQ and in London. Additionally it should be noted that the incumbent's role is also to provide support and guidance as well as budget advice for small-scale PSFR activities for individual giving in Greece (and possibly in Portugal and other countries of the Rome Region in the near future). Under the guidance of the supervisor, the Associate PSFR Officer (Individual Giving) will also manage relations with partners, media, contractors and suppliers for PSFR programmes and supervise the Indivdual Giving team in their contact with external partners. S/he will supervise some 3 locally recruited (UNOPS) staff.

2.2 FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT. Describe the accountabilities, responsibilities and authorities associated with the position.

Accountability (key results that will be achieved) - UNHCR's Individual Giving Program in Italy (and other countries under area of responsibility) has sufficient support to meets its goal and objectives. Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results) - Support IG programme in Greece and eventually in Portugal including associated income and goals. - Develop, with PSFR Officer, a detailed Annual PSFR Plan for the Individual Giving programme in Italy. - Prepare submissions to the Income Growth Fund related to the Individual Giving programme to secure funding to increase the donor base of private sector in Italy (and eventually in Greece and Portugal). - Recommend strategies and action plans in Italy (and in Rome Region) including for emergencies (manage relations with partners, media, contractors and suppliers and act as the emergency coordinator for PSFR Rome Region.). - Liaise with the PSFR Officer in integrating strategies with internet-based fund-raising activities in Italy and in Rome Region . - Supervise and monitor PSFR expenditure/budget and income recording and reporting for the Individual Giving programme. - Manage database on donations. - Maintain level of service and value for individual donors to ensure a stable and solid level of contributions. Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results) - Make recommendations on strategy and future planning. - Develop activities and tools that support LG, including research, design and develop fundraising campaigns to corporate and foundations involving. - One-to-one briefings and presentations designed to solicit financial support for refugees. - Define and propose the PSFR Individual Giving plan and budget according to the PSFR Officer indications and global PSFR instructions. - Manage budgeted activities under the guidance of the PSFR Officer. 2.4 ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the

University degree in business/marketing, social sciences or a related discipline plus 4 years' relevant work experience (2 years with advanced university degree) with 2 years' private sector fundraising experience in a not-for-profit organisation or an international organisation or a marketing/fundraising consultancy firm in Italy. Current knowledge of PSFR markets in the region, its' practices/ standards, processes. Exposure to PSFR activities for an international organisation. Proven expertise and up-to-date knowledge in: o Preparing and implementing PSFR plans and developing plans for annual income growth as well as in strategic planning. o Major existing and new PSFR techniques including direct marketing and direct response fundraising, monthly donor programmes including face-to-face and DRTV. o Maximizing individual donor life-time value through implementation of a tested donor communication cycle o Telemarketing, middle donors, and digital fundraising. o Developing PSFR material for direct response either in direct marketing in a not-for-profit or as an account manager in a direct marketing consultancy. o Managing the production of fundraising materials from creative and design to production, print and delivery. Excellent knowledge of English and Italian (written/oral/comprehension). Highly developed drafting ability in English. Working knowledge in any other UN language, preferably Spanish. Advanced drafting skills in English/Italian.

2.5 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES.

Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.

International not-for-profit experience in Italy, raising funds for a humanitarian cause.

Exposure to UN system with particular focus on fundraising activities for humanitarian causes (ideally field exposure). Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and strong communication and presentation skills Good communication and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Proven ability to deal with multiple tasks/projects Excellent computer skills
