How to get to

By train

Hexagon Place

From the Mundells and east of Welwyn Garden City, enter Shire Park by the main entrance road (the Boulevard). At the roundabout, cross over the road and join Falcon Way. Hexagon Place is on your left. By car Roche operates a `green travel policy' at its Welwyn site. On-site parking is heavily restricted. Visitor parking is limited and is reserved for short-term visitors only (i.e. under three hours). A small number of these spaces can be booked in advance. If you would like to book one of these, please talk to your Roche contact. The other visitor spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis so please ensure that you leave enough time before your meeting begins to find alternative parking in the event that these spaces are full. We recommend that you leave at least half an hour to drive to the town centre car parks and catch the shuttle bus back to Hexagon Place. For the town centre: From the north or south, come off the A1(M) at junction 4 and take the first exit off the roundabout signposted Welwyn A6129. Turn right at the next roundabout onto Stanborough Road. Go straight over the next two roundabouts and onto Osborn Way. Take the next left at the mini roundabout and turn right into the Howard Centre car park. For Hexagon Place: From the north or south, come off the A1(M) at junction 4 and take the first exit off the roundabout signposted Welwyn A6129. Turn right at the next roundabout onto Stanborough Road. Go straight over the first roundabout, right at the second roundabout over the railway bridge, and straight ahead at the next onto Broadwater Road. Follow Broadwater Road over three sets of traffic lights crossing Bridge Road and into Bessemer Road. Continue over another roundabout. When you meet the junction with the Mundells one way system, stay in the left hand lane and turn left into the Shire Park business park. At the roundabout take the second exit. Hexagon Place is along this road (Falcon Way) on the left hand side.

Welwyn Garden City sits on the East Coast Mainline and is well served by trains from London to Cambridge, Peterborough and beyond. Fast trains leave London Kings Cross twice an hour and the journey takes 25 minutes. For up-to-date train information please ring National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950. Welwyn Garden City train station is a 25 minute walk from Hexagon Place. You are encouraged to make use of Roche's free shuttle bus service, operated by Arriva. The `6 Falcon Way' service picks up from the Welwyn Garden City central bus station (located at the north end of the Howard Shopping Centre) and runs at regular 15 minute intervals until 8.00pm. By bus Welwyn Garden City is well served with regular bus services from surrounding towns. The main operators in the area are Arriva (www.arrivabus.co.uk) and Uno (www.unobus.info). Arriva service 401 stops on Bessemer Road close to Hexagon Place, and runs at 30 minute intervals throughout the day. If you are using another service, please change at Welwyn Garden City central bus station to the dedicated `6 Falcon Way' service to Hexagon Place. By motorbike or bicycle Hexagon Place has ample parking space for motorbikes and bicycles. In addition, there is a dedicated cycle path between central Welwyn Garden City and Shire Park. If you are arriving by motorcycle or bike, please follow the directions for cars and report to the main security lodge. By foot From the town centre and west of Welwyn Garden City, follow the footpaths through the Waitrose and College car parks onto Gresley Close. At the end of Gresley Close turn right onto Digswell Rise. Take the pedestrian bridge over the railway line and follow the path onto Shire Park. When you reach the road (Falcon Way), turn right and follow the road round until you see Hexagon Place.
