Description LUCIDENE 606 APEF is an APEO-free soft styrene/acrylic emulsion polymer, with excellent flexibility and adhesion properties. Developed as a let-down vehicle for flexographic and gravure inks and coatings, giving high gloss and good water resistance. Suitable for printing paper, board, aluminum foil and various treated films such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polyester. LUCIDENE 606 APEF is also an excellent film forming emulsion for use in conjunction with LUCIDENE 375CI hard emulsion in Overprint Varnish (OPV's) to add flexibility to the film. LUCIDENE 606 APEF is compatible with a wide range of alcohols and glycol ether solvents. Compatibility With Other Polymers LUCIDENE 606 APEF is compatible with the typical styrene/acrylic polymers utilized in the graphic arts industry. Dilution Characteristics LUCIDENE 606 APEF can be diluted with both water and water/alcohol blends. It is advisable to pre-mix such blends and add slowly with thorough stirring to avoid possible "solvent shock."

Modification With Solution Polymers Viscosity effects of blends of LUCIDENE 606 APEF and MOREZTM 101Z solution (MORCRYLTM 130Z) will follow a similar pattern to that of LUCIDENE 375CI. Adhesion Properties LUCIDENE 606 APEF has good adhesion to a number of packaging films, e.g. Trespaphan SCB MXXT/S Mobil MB400 Aluminum Foil Pigmentation LUCIDENE 606 APEF is not designed as a pigment grind vehicle, although it can be used. It is recommended that pigments are ground into a solution of MOREZ 101Z. LUCIDENE 606 APEF can then be used as the let-down vehicle. As a general rule, pigments considered stable for use in water-based liquid inks will be stable with LUCIDENE 606 APEF.
