Cafeteria News: Charging will not be allowed through the end of the school year. Please check with the cafeteria cashier for your current balance. SENIORS, "cash only" this last week of school. Any balances will be transferred to siblings. Any balance above $5.00 may be refunded if there is no sibling to transfer it to. SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS end-of-the-year balances roll over to next year. If your family is planning to move away in the summer and you have a balance left on your lunch account, it may be refunded if it's above $5.00. Forwarding address should be left with a cashier. The library will be closed this week to complete inventory. The Student Council will be hosting our annual Ban the "R" Word! The r-word, "retard," is slang for the term mental retardation. Mental retardation was what doctors, psychologists, and other professionals used to describe people with significant intellectual impairment. Today the r-word has become a common word used by society as an insult for someone or something stupid. For example, you might hear someone say, "That is so retarded" or "Don't be such a retard." When used in this way, the r-word can apply to anyone or anything and is not specific to someone with a disability. But, even when the r-word is not said to harm someone with a disability, it is hurtful. So help us by taking the pledge and signing the banner in front of the Counseling Office on Wednesday! We will also have drawings for free items!

GUIDANCE OFFICE INFORMATION Seniors: There are still caps and gowns in the Counseling Office that have not been picked up! Please see Mrs. Feeler if you have not picked yours up. Are you interested in volunteering at Phelps County Regional Medical Center this summer? If so, then stop by PCRMC and pick up a VolunTEEN Program application. May 23rd is the application deadline. CLUB INFORMATION Eco Club will have its last meeting TODAY in Room 311. Help recycle and then attend a Pizza Party! Improv Club will be meeting TOMORROW after school in Room 310. Everyone is welcome to attend our final meeting of the year! ATHLETIC INFORMATION There will be a short 10-15 minute meeting in Coach Sells' classroom (128) TOMORROW after school for those interested in wrestling. Reminder--Track Awards Night will be Tuesday, May 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. in junior high cafeteria. There will be a Lady Bulldog summer softball team practice at 6:00 TOMORROW at the high school field. Want to learn the art of pole vaulting, condition yourself for long distance running or football, learn how to shoot a layup, execute a takedown, serve an ace, or do you just need to improve your soccer or softball skills? Summer Athletic Camp forms are now available in the Attendance and Athletic Offices. Want to get in shape and have fun, be involved in a sport, and be part of a great group of students? Find out more Thursday after school at the Cross Country meeting.
