Sony EVI-HD1 Robotic Camera

Cable Connections

· The Sony EVI-HD1 Robotic Camera connects to the switcher either through an RS-422 to RS-232 converter to the Editor port on the back of the switcher, or through a Comtrol DeviceMaster to the switcher over ethernet.

Switcher Setup

1. Press MENU Config. 2. Press Add. 3. Use the Slot knob to select the port or slot you want to use.

· Select Slot X, where X is the number of the slot you want to use. · Select SP.

4. Use the Type knob to select Camera. 5. Press NEXT. 6. Use the SubType knob to select sony_1.0. 7. Press NEXT.

a. Use the Field knob to select the segment of the DeviceMaster IP address you want to edit. DeviceMaster b. c. d. e. Use the Value knob to select the number. Press NEXT. Use the Option knob to select Port. Use the Value knob to select the port on the DeviceMaster that the EVI-HD1 is connected to.

a. Use the Option knob to select Baud. RS-422/232 Converter b. Use the Value knob to select 38400. c. Use the Option knob to select Parity. d. Use the Value knob to select NONE.

To Set Up Video Inputs

1. Press MENU CONFIG Input NEXT. 2. Use the Input knob to select the video input BNC that the Robotic Camera is connected to. 3. Press Device. 4. Use the Device knob to select the EVI-HD1 that is connected to the selected input BNC. 5. Press NEXT. 6. Use the Option knob to select Channel. 7. Use the Value knob to select the channel, or address, that the specific camera head you want to control is on. 8. Set the additional options for the camera as follows:

DeviceMaster Setup

Refer to the documentation that came with the DeviceMaster for information on using the Comtrol® PortVision® software to set up the DeviceMaster. Use the following information to set up your DeviceMaster: · You must use a Static IP address for the DeviceMaster. You need to enter this address into the switcher so that it can connect to the DeviceMaster. · You must set up each serial port on the DeviceMaster for the device you are connecting to it. Ensure the following is set up on the Comtrol PortVision software: > Serial Configuration -- Use the following information.

Robotic Camera Feature Support

> TCP Connection Configuration -- For each serial port on the DeviceMaster, ensure that Enable and Listen are checked and enter a port number for the serial port. Ross Video suggests that you start numbering the ports at 1001. Leave all other setting at their default values. > UDP Connection Configuration -- For each serial port on the EVI-HD1, ensure that Enable Serial to Ethernet, Enable Ethernet to Serial, and Enable Ethernet Receive from any IP address are unchecked. Leave all other setting at their default values.
