`Calculating Your Transferable GPAYour transferable GPA is calculated using the following formula: Tot a l t ra n s fe rab le g rad e po i nt s --------------------------------------------------------------= tra n s fe rab le GPA Total t ra n sfe rab l e g rad ed u ni t s a tt empt ed Grade points are determined by the following for each grade: A = 4 points B = 3 points C = 2 points D = 1 point F = 0 points (CR grades do not generate grade points and are not included in a GPA calculation) To calculate total Grade Points (GP), multiply each grade by the number of Units Attempted (UA) for the class; then add the total of grade points for all classes. For example: Psych 1A Engl 1A Math 15 Anthro 1 A B B CR totals = = = = 4 points x 3 UA = 12 GP 3 points x 4 UA = 12 GP 3 points x 3 UA = 9 GP no UA, no GP_____________ 10 UA 33 GP 33 GP / 10 UA = 3.30 GPARemember that all SRJC courses numbered 1 99 transfer to the CSU; all courses 1 47 transfer to the UC for admissions.* * * * *The most straightforward way to calculate your transferable GPA is to use the addition method shown above. Go to the View Grades function in your student portal, select All Semesters, and print your record. Then follow these steps: 1. Circle the graded Units Attempted and Grade Points for each transferable course. 2. Add together all of the transferable graded Units Attempted and, separately, all of the transferable Grade Points 3. Divide the total transferable Grade Points by the total transferable graded Units Attempted to yield your transferable GPA. If only a few of your courses have been non-transferable, you can use a subtraction method to find your transferable GPA by following these steps: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Highlight or cross out all non-transferable courses. Add together the non-transferable graded Units Attempted and, separately, the non-transferable Grade Points from those classes. Subtract the total of non-transferable graded Units Attempted from the Local Totals at the bottom of the UA column on your record. Subtract the total of non-transferable Grade Points from the Local Totals at the bottom of the GP column on your record. Divide the remaining Grade Points by the remaining graded Units Attempted to compute your transferable GPA.* * * * *Important: If you have more than one transcript, you must add the total of transferable graded Units Attempted from all transcripts together, then the transferable Grade Points from all transcripts together, then do the division of the totals: Total transferable Grade Points, school A + Total transferable Grade Points, school B + Total transferable Grade Points school C, etc1/09Calculating Your Transferable GPATotal transferable graded Units Attempted, A + Total transferable graded Units Attempted B + Total trans. gr.
