Trail #: 08-0030 Trail Status: Operational Location: North Battleford is located in west central Saskatchewan along Highways 16 and 4. Description: Running north and south along Highway 4, this section of the Trans Canada Trail links the communities of North Battleford and Prince, Saskatchewan. Historical: Located along the North Saskatchewan River, North Battleford was incorporated into a town in 1906. The community quickly surpassed its sister city of Battleford to the south. The city now acts as a transportation hub -- a convergence point for five major highways. The city also plays an important role in the forestry and agricultural sectors of the province. Terrain: Rural trail Difficulty: Signage: Trans Canada Trail markers are found along this section of trail. Trans Canada Trail Pavilion: On Highway 26, across from the entrance to the Village of Meota. Facilities: A full list of services and amenities is located near this section of the Trans Canada Trail.
