System Requirements

· Personal computer, laptop, desktop or IBM compatible with Pentium 166 MHz minimum, and with an active USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. · Windows® 98 SE / ME 2000 XP, CD-Rom drive, color monitor, mouse and keyboard. · For video conferencing, your computer must have modem and communication software for Internet connection.

Installing USB Driver and Software

Installing Driver 1. Turn on the computer. 2. Insert installation CD into the CD-Rom drive, the installation menu should appear. 3. When the prompt screen appears, choose "PC Camera Driver" from the menu. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions. 5. Restart the computer. For Windows® 2000/XP only: During installation of the driver or software, computer may display the message: "The software you are going to install doesn't contain the Microsoft signature, and may not work correctly. Do you want to continue? Y/N" Please choose "Y" to continue the installation.

Installing Software

1. Insert installation CD into the CD-Rom drive, the installation menu should appear. 2. When the prompt screen appears, choose "ArcSoft® Software Suite" to install the software. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. 4. The installed software will automatically create "PhotoImpression 5" or "VideoImpression 2" shortcut icons on your desktop.

Plug one end of the USB cable into the camera and the other end into a USB port located on the computer. For Windows® 98 SE/ME only: · Double click "My Computer" icon -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Imaging Device. "USB 2.0 PC Camera" will appear, indicating that the camera has been installed properly.

Camera Connection Instructions

For Windows® 2000/XP only: · Double click "My Computer" icon (Windows® 2000) or go to the Start Button and select "MY Computer" (Windows® XP) -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Imaging Device. "USB 2.0 PC Camera" will appear, indicating that the camera has been installed properly.

For Windows® 98 SE/ME/2000 Uninstalling Software: 1. Click "Start" from the task bar and choose "Setting". 2. Choose "Control Panel" and double click "Add/Remove Programs". 3. Select the program to be uninstalled "ArcSoft® Software Suite". 4. Click on "Remove Program" and follow the on-screen instructions. Uninstalling the Camera Driver 1. Click "Start" from the task bar and choose "Setting". 2. Choose "Control Panel" and double click "Add/Remove Programs". 3. Select the program to be uninstalled "USB 2.0 Camera". 4. Click on "Remove Program" and follow the on-screen instructions.

For Windows® XP Uninstalling Software: 1. Click "Start" from the task bar and choose "Control Panel". 2. Double click "Add/Remove Programs". 3. Select the program to be uninstalled "ArcSoft® Software Suite". 4. Click on "Remove" and follow the on-screen instructions. Uninstalling the Camera Driver 1. Click "Start" from the task bar and choose "Control Panel". 2. Double click "Add or Remove Programs". 3. Select the program to be uninstalled "USB 2.0 Camera". 4. Click on "Remove" and follow the on-screen instructions.

ArcSoft® PhotoImpression 5 is a complete digital image editing application that includes a "Getting Started" user's guide, and complete image editing functions that provide organizing, viewing, enhancing, editing, printing and sharing of photos.

Arcsoft® PhotoImpression 5

Click Start -> Program -> "ArcSoft® Software Suite" -> "PhotoImpression 5" to launch PhotoImpression 5 or double click the PhotoImpression 5 icon on the desktop. Select the picture source. For example: 1. Click "Folder" to acquire photos from the computer. 2. Select the file path. 3. Start editing photos.

Get Photo Enhance Create Project Print Send

Choose how to view or acquire photos. Crop, brighten, rotate, re-size and modify photos. Add clip art, special effects, frames and more. Make calendars, photo books, and greeting cards. Print multiple images per page and multiple pages at one time. Email photos or upload photos to online sharing accounts.

ArcSoft® VideoImpression 2

ArcSoft® VideoImpression 2 creates home movies an d slide shows by combining existing videos, still images, scene transitions, and multiple audio tracks. This program provides video editing, export options for digital still cameras, desktop, digital video cameras and camcorders.

Using Arcsoft® VideoImpression 2 Click Start -> Program -> "ArcSoft® Software Suite" -> "VideoImpression 2" to launch VideoImpression 2 or double click the VideoImpression 2 icon on the desktop. Open A Project Browse project files from the VideoImpression 2 system folder. "Project" file contain all of the settings and components of that project, allowing the user to edit, add or modify that project without searching for files or support.

Create A Video Retrieve media materials such as video, photos, or audio files, from a connected device or choose media files from the system folder. Video materials can be chosen from the computer's photo album as well. Create a Slide Show Retrieve media materials such as video, photos, or audio files, from a connected device or choose media files from the system folder. If the box "Always show this Wizard when VideoImpression starts", at the bottom of the Wizard window is checked, the Wizard will appear each time the program is run. Unchecking the box will allow the window to not appear. Select all pictures and videos that are needed then enter the editing window as below.

1. Media ­ Select videos and images will be used in the final movie or slide show. 2. Edit ­ Modify video and image color, and adjust duration of each movie component. Only available for video projects. 3. Effects ­ Add special effect transitions between components, or apply custom, personalized themes. 4. Text ­ Place animated text on any movie component. Only available for video projects. 5. Narrate ­ Record audio directly from the program and add to movie project. 6. Produce ­ Combine all components to create final video. The video can be saved in various file types, and can also be transmitted as an email. The Storyboard ­ The location used to assemble the movie. The Player ­ The location used to review and modify movies. Working with Albums ­ Organize media for easy access. Using Internet Video Conferencing To run a video conference, both computer's must be configured with a webcam, microphone, speakers and have access to the Internet. Download video conferencing software, purchased or free, basic software such as I-Phone or MicroSoft® NetMeeting. For example: To download Windows® NetMeeting, go to www. microsoft.com and search for NetMeeting and follow downloading procedures. Starting NetMeeting, follow the simple set-up procedure on the computer screen, enter personal information and adjust the microphone volume. Receive a Video: 1. Call the person you want to see/hear. 2. On the Tools menu, choose "Video", then click "Receive". Send a Video: 1. Call the person you want to see/hear. 2. Click the Start Video button directly under the screen or click the Tools menu, choose "Video", then "Send". NOTE: As the video starts, the Start/Stop Video button will switch to Stop Video. To stop the video, click the Start/Stop Video button again.
