Method 1: Disable the "Do Not Save Encrypted pages to disk" option in Internet Explorer

Important These steps may increase your security risk. These steps may also make the computer or the network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We recommend the process that this article describes to enable programs to operate as they are designed to or to implement specific program capabilities. If you decide to implement this process, take any appropriate additional steps to help protect the system. We recommend that you use this process only if you really require this process. Note Before modifying any security settings in Internet Explorer, contact your IT Helpdesk. 1. 2. 3. 4. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, locate the Security section. Click to clear the Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box. Click Apply, and then click OK.

To verify that the issue is resolved, close all browser windows, and then try to join a meeting in Live Meeting 2007. To do this, follow these steps: a. Close all browser windows. b. Visit the following Live Meeting 2007 Web site: https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/test2007/join?id=LiveMeeting2007Test c. If you can successfully join this test meeting, the issue is resolved. Otherwise, continue to Method 3.

Method 3: Associate the .rtc extension with the appropriate file

For Windows Vista 1. When you are prompted, manually save the Launch.rtc file to your local hard disk drive. 2. Click the Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then open Windows Explorer. 3. In the address bar of Windows Explorer, paste (or type) the following text, and then press ENTER: Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs 4. 5. 6. 7. Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Locate the .rtc extension, and then select it. Click the Change program button. Click the Browse button, and then move to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\LiveMeeting Shared

8. If the list at the lower-right corner of the Open with box says Programs (*.exe; *.pif; *.com, ), change it to All Files (*.*). 9. Double-click Rtcrouter.dll, and then click OK. 10. Repeat steps 5 through 9 and replace .rtc with the .rtc-ms extension. 11. Click Close to close the file association box. For Windows XP 1. When you are prompted, manually save the Launch.rtc file to your local hard disk drive. 2. Right-click the Launch.rtc file, click Open With, and then click Choose Program to select the program that you want. 3. Click the Browse button, and then move to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\LiveMeeting Shared 4. At the bottom of the Open with box, click the list, and then make sure that All Files is selected in the Files of type list. 5. Double-click Rtcrouter.dll. 6. Click to select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box if it is not already selected. 7. Click OK. 8. Repeat steps 2 through 7, and replace .rtc with the .rtc-ms extension. To verify that this method has resolved this issue, follow these steps: 1. Close all browser windows. 2. Visit the following Live Meeting 2007 Web site: https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/test2007/join?id=LiveMeeting2007Test 3. If you can successfully join this test meeting, the issue is resolved. Method 4: Delete the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtc registry subkey

1. Uninstall the Live Meeting 2007 console. 2. Delete the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtc subkey. To do this, follow these steps: a. Click Start, and then click Run. b. Copy and then paste (or type) the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: regedit c. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtc d. Click Delete. e. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the deletion, and then exit Registry Editor. 3. To verify that this method has resolved this issue, follow these steps: a. Close all browser windows. b. Visit the following Live Meeting 2007 Web site: https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/test2007/join?id=LiveMeeting2007Test c. If you can successfully join this test meeting, the issue is resolved. Otherwise, continue to Method 5. Back to the top

Method 5: Reinstall Live Meeting

Note Contact your IT Helpdesk before you continue. 1. Uninstall the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Console. To do this, follow these steps: In Windows Vista , type programs and features in the Start Search box, and then a. Click Start press ENTER. b. In the list of programs, click Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007, and then click Uninstall. c. If you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the program, click Yes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. In Windows XP a. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. b. Click Add or Remove Programs. c. Select Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 from the Currently installed programs list. d. Click Remove, and then follow the instructions. 2. Reinstall the Live Meeting Console. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101733831033.aspx To verify that the issue is resolved, close all browser windows, and then try to join a meeting in Live Meeting 2007. To do this, follow these steps: a. Close all browser windows. b. Visit the following Live Meeting 2007 Web site: https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/test2007/join?id=LiveMeeting2007Test
