water can be used for washing. Children are warned of the dangers of putting conkers in their mouths when they first come to the pre-school and are continually reminded when they play outside. Staff and management are to keep a visual check of the tree especially after high winds Staff to conduct daily checks on equipment as they put it out for use and then check on equipment screwed onto the fence to make sure there are no breaks or exposed screws. If equipment is broken it will either be fixed or removed from the setting.

STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT ABOVE HEAD HEIGHT

STEPS AND GAURD LEADIG TO DOOR OF PRE-SCHOOL

All-As this is a small setting some equipment must be stored above head height. There is the possibility of this slipping off or being dropped when it is being brought down. Children-can slip through the bars and cause injury to themselves or others.

Staff will only bring down equipment when the children have gone home. Staff will not bring down such equipment down when in the setting alone. There is a plastic mesh guard which will help prevent children falling through. Children must also be reminded not to play on the steps. When oven is on, a safety gate must be put around the area so that children can not reach it. A member of staff must supervise the oven at all times until it has cooled and is no longer in use.
