Theoretical Developments and Computational Challenges in Financial Mathematics

SIAM Journal on

FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS

New!

Associate Editors D. Becherer M. Broadie R. E. Caflisch

Editors-in-Chief René Carmona, Princeton University Ronnie Sircar, Princeton University Brings together works on theoretical developments in financial mathematics as well as breakthroughs in the computational challenges they encompass. By publishing papers of high quality and originality, it serves as an essential resource for academic finance researchers and practitioners alike. The journal offers a conduit for the publication of articles in any of these branches of financial mathematics. It also provides a common platform for scholars interested in the mathematical theory of finance as well as practitioners interested in rigorous treatments of the scientific computational issues related to implementation. On the theoretical side, the journal seeks papers with demonstrable mathematical developments motivated by models of modern finance. On the computational side, it publishes works introducing new methods and algorithms representing significant (as opposed to incremental) improvements on the existing state of affairs of modern numerical implementations of applied financial mathematics. Information about editorial policy, peer review, manuscript submission, and production is available at http://www.siam.org/journals/sifin.php or email [email protected]

The Flagship Journal of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

SIAM REVIEW

Senior Editor Margaret H. Wright

Editor-in-Chief Robert B. Schnabel Indiana University SIAM Review consists of five sections, all containing articles of broad interest. Survey and Review features papers with a deliberately integrative and up-to-date perspective on a major topic in applied or computational mathematics or scientific computing. Problems and Techniques contains focused, specialized papers about interesting problems, techniques, and tools, including descriptions of mathematical formulations, solution methods, and open questions. SIGEST highlights a recent paper from one of SIAM's twelve specialized research journals, chosen on the basis of exceptional interest to the entire SIAM community and revised and condensed as needed for greater accessibility. Education consists primarily of individual modules that are selfcontained presentations of specific topics in applied mathematics, scientific computation, or their applications; each module provides the primary material needed to teach a given topic as well as supplementary material. The Book Reviews section contains a featured review that provides an overview of several books in a subject area. Shorter reviews of individual books are also included.

"There are many virtues of being a SIAM member... SIAM Review is worth the price of admission alone!"

Editor-in-Chief Russel E. Caflisch University of California, Los Angeles A SIAM Interdisciplinary Journal Launched in 2003, MMS features research articles that focus on the fundamental modeling and computational principles underlying various multiscale methods. Multiscale modeling is highly interdisciplinary, with developments occurring independently across fields. Research papers and survey articles that augment the fundamental ways we model and predict multiscale phenomena are featured. Particularly emphasized is the interplay between analysis and modeling, modeling and simulation, and mathematics and various applications. Papers bridge the gap in multiscale research between mathematics and various application disciplines, including biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, fluid dynamics, geophysics, information science, materials science, and physical science.

Multiscale Modeling and Simulation (MMS) is an interdisciplinary journal focusing on the fundamental modeling and computational principles underlying various multiscale methods.

SIAM ACADEMIC MEMBERSHIP

Over 400 colleges and universities throughout the world are Academic Members of SIAM, providing a valuable service to the applied mathematics communities and enjoying a wide range of benefits. Degree-granting institutions that wish to be affiliated with SIAM as a member are eligible for Academic Membership. Departmental memberships are available for smaller institutions that offer Master's and undergraduate degrees in mathematics or a related science. Predetermined Academic Member Options

There are six predetermined options to choose from, and each option includes the new journal, SIAM Journal on Financial Mathematics, at no cost in 2010. Option "D" includes the complete library of SIAM journals and provides your institution with the most value at the highest discount available--25%. For complete information go to www.siam.org/membership/ predetermined.php.

SIAM Academic Members receive:

· Discounts on print and/or electronic subscriptions to SIAM's prestigious journals. You may choose from either a customized or a predetermined package of journals (see sidebar at right), both of which provide your institution with significant savings over regular subscription prices. Upon request and the completion of an Online Journals Subscription Agreement (OJSA)*, you can receive electronic access to SIAM Journals Online (articles published since 1997) in addition to each print subscription at no additional charge. You can also subscribe to the electronic editions only and save shelf space as well as an additional 5% discount on basic member dues for your selected option. Print copies can be delivered to multiple individuals, all to one central location or library, or split up in any combination. · Online Journal Archive. Receive a 20% discount on Locus (articles from 1953 to 1996). · Free student memberships. An unlimited number of graduate students (Master's and Ph.D.) attending SIAM Academic Member institutions are eligible for complimentary student membership. Graduate students can join SIAM by filling out a student membership application online at www.siam.org/students/memberships.php. An unlimited number of undergraduate students nominated by their institution or any regular SIAM member are eligible as well. · Additional print subscriptions to each of the SIAM journals in your package at $315 each. Up to three additional print subscriptions may be divided among other locations or departments. · Additional SIAM News subscriptions. Up to 10 free subscriptions delivered to the department and/or individuals of your choice. · Book discount. Save up to 30% on all SIAM book purchases (online catalog at www.siam.org/catalog). · Public acknowledgment of your support in SIAM publications and brochures and in every print issue of SIAM's journals. More information about Academic Membership, including a list of current SIAM Academic Members and an application, is available online at www.siam.org/membership/academic. Applications can be faxed upon request.

Custom Academic Member Options

Customizable options accommodate academic subscribers' growing interest in membership. Degree-granting institutions have the option of customizing a package, making it easier for them to enjoy the benefits of membership while subscribing only to the journals of their choice. With our custom package option, your institution will receive a discount based on the number of individual journals you select--the more journals, the higher the discount.
