Noro Wave Scarf Pattern

by Allison Van Zandt, This pattern was inspired by the many available feather and fan-type stitch patterns available on the web and in print. As none of them were exactly what I wanted, I simply incorporated parts of each that I liked into this simple scarf pattern. I find that it shows of the color changes of Noro and JojoLand quite well. It also looks nice on both the right and wrong sides. Project Requirements: 2 balls of Noro Silk Garden Sock (328 yards per ball) or similar yarn, and a US 5 circular needle. For this project I used Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn color 245 and 24" Addi Turbo Lace Circular needles in US 5. Cast on 48 stitches. Knit 2 rows. Follow the wave pattern until your scarf is the desired length. Knit 2 rows. Cast off. Weave in ends. Wash and block to enhance wave pattern. Wave Pattern: Row 1: Knit all stitches Rows 2 & 4: k2, purl to last 2 stitches, k2 Row 3: k2, *p2tog twice, YO (K1, YO) 3 times, p2tog twice* repeat from * 3 more times, k2 This pattern is based on an 11 stitch "wave" pattern (repeated 4 times), sandwiched between 2 knit stitches at the beginning and end. If you want to use one ball of yarn instead of two, consider knitting a narrower scarf by casting on only 37 stitches and repeating the 11-stitch wave pattern in Row 3 only three times. * Red type above is a corrected error
