SKODA Octavia RS

The RS badge is the first indication that this is no ordinary Octavia. Look down and the deep front spoiler with honeycomb grille give the RS its unmistakably sporty and aggressive presence.

The RS badge sits discreetly on the rear of the boot, gently reminding those behind that this is no ordinary Octavia.

Optional xenon headlights with dynamic angle control offer greater visibility than regular headlights. Thanks to the dynamic angle control, which works in unison with steering wheel inputs, the driver has improved visibility through the bends and is able to register possible obstacles at the side of the road earlier and respond accordingly.

Daytime running lights are a striking new element on the RS. Independent LED diodes offer a distinctive visual appeal as well as better visibility of the car at all times. The lights are located above the foglights, embedded in the lower honeycomb grille.

18" Neptune alloy wheels with 225/40 R18 tyres come as standard on the RS.

Since when did driving to work, or taking the kids to the beach, have to be boring?

Whether it be Liftback or Wagon, diesel or petrol, manual or DSG transmission, our Octavia RS range proves that practicality and functionality doesn`t have to be at the expense driver involvement and pace. So step into an Octavia RS and let the fun begin...

RS comes with a three-spoke leather sports steering wheel. The DSG transmission model comes with a three-spoke, multi-function leather sports steering wheel as standard. Note, the plus and minus gearshift paddles behind the steering wheel is for use on DSG model only.

The automatic 6-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) transmission offers rapid yet smooth gearchanges without any loss of performance. It also has excellent acceleration and favourable fuel consumption when driven economically. DSG or six-speed manual transmissions are available on both petrol and diesel engines.

Race-inspired alloy sports pedals help maintain the racetrack theme throughout the RS range and provide extra grip to help facilitate fast gearchanges.

Decorative door sill strips complete with RS inscription also have a practical function by helping to protect the sills against damage. Dual-zone climate control air conditioning with electronic regulation, and the Columbus satellite navigation are both standard. Touch screen control and SD card slot gives the audio system additional value, while the satellite navigation system comes with a 30GB hard drive and voice control.

Alcantara front sports seats (above) are inspired by the racetrack and offer high levels of comfort and grip whatever the journey. The RS emblem is embroidered on both the front and rear seats. The optional leather/artificial leather interior (left) is an effortless blend of sporting style and luxury. The RS logo on the front and rear backrests again forms an attractive detail.

SKODA New Vehicle Warranty Every new SKODA passenger vehicle is covered by a three-year unlimited kilometre manufacturer's warranty, which includes SKODA Assist (24-hour roadside assistance). Every new SKODA vehicle is also covered by a three-year paintwork and 12-year anti-corrosion perforation warranty. SKODA Assist 24-Hour roadside assistance As a valued customer, you can be assured that wherever you travel within Australia, you will have access to roadside assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is complimentary for the duration of the vehicle's original SKODA warranty period. You will receive help in the event of a breakdown or accident and, if required, your vehicle will be mobilised or transported to an Authorised SKODA Workshop. As a SKODA owner you will also have access to the additional benefits of accommodation and car rental if your vehicle cannot be mobilised within 24 hours, when you are over 100km away from home. SKODA Extended Warranty To give you added peace of mind and the assurance of added security, you have the option to extend the factory warranty to suit your ownership cycle. If your SKODA was purchased new by you, we can offer you a 36 month/60,000km extension on your already existing SKODA manufacturer's warranty. Alternatively, if your vehicle is already outside the SKODA manufacturer's warranty period we can also offer you an extension of your factory warranty. Have the assurance that your SKODA remains a SKODA. Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) This sophisticated system provides an electronic means of regulating the ratio of front to rear brake pressure. The system automatically varies the settings according to driving and load conditions to ensure each wheel is braked to the optimum extent. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) The ESC is made up of the ABS and ASR traction control systems. Simply put, it helps ensure that the vehicle goes where you steer it even in extreme driving conditions. By constantly comparing the actual movement of the vehicle with pre-determined values, ESC will apply the brakes to individual wheels and automatically adjust the engine's power output to correct a problem the very moment it arises. Brake Assist Brake Assist aids the driver during emergency braking by automatically increasing the brake pressure to a level exceeding the locking limit. Then, the ABS is quickly brought into the operating range, thereby enabling maximum vehicle deceleration. Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) EDL improves driving and steering characteristics when accelerating on road surfaces where each wheel has a different degree of traction. The system operates automatically and is combined with the ABS system. Using the ABS wheel sensors, EDL monitors the speed of the individual driving wheels. When a difference in driving wheel speed is detected (i.e. when one wheel starts to spin due to differences in road surfaces, e.g. due to water or dirt) the system brakes the spinning wheel, transferring engine power to the wheel with the best traction. Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL) The Electronic Differential Lock XDL is an extension to the EDL function. When cornering, the XDL responds to the unloading of the front wheel on the inside of the corner. The ESP hydraulics are used for the XDL to apply pressure to the wheel on the inside of the corner in order to prevent wheel spin. This improves traction and reduces the tendency to understeer. As a direct result of the one-sided and precise braking pressure, cornering is sportier, quicker and more accurate. 11

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) When braking, sensors in each wheel measure the road speed. If one or more wheels start to lock, the ABS reduces brake pressure to those wheels. This prevents the wheels from locking during heavy or emergency braking and allows you to continue to steer the vehicle. Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) ASR is a switchable traction control system that prevents the front wheels from spinning under acceleration. When a difference in driving wheel speed is detected (e.g. due to differences in road surfaces), the system automatically reduces engine torque accordingly.
