Module 1 of 8 The Empowerment & Inner Fulfillment Secrets How do I clarify "the riches the values - I REALLY cherish in my personal life?"

Strategic Goal: To identify, achieve and enjoy more of the life the riches the values you REALLY cherish. Tactical Goal: To help you build the habits to do what most people believe impossible:

Align EVERY action to the riches the values you REALLY want from life and work,

so you can enjoy a Quantum Leap in: motivation, accomplishment, satisfaction and lifes meaning and, thereby, Enjoy The Life You REALLY Want for the rest of your life. When this happens, it will make a significant, even profound, difference in your life.

3 Tips To Get The Most Out Of This Call

1. Print this TimeSaver Worksheet so you can take notes and highlight key ideas. Many times for emphasis, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ will be missing so you can fill them in. Research shows you will remember it longer when you are actively writing or underlining. 2. At the end of the session, make appropriate commitments with clear deadlines to yourself. 3. Immediately after the session, share your commitments with your team.

1

Aligned Thinking began many years ago as a time management process. With input from thousands telling what they really wanted and needed, it has matured into a professional/personal action to values management process. Many alumni see it more as a life management process.

The Empowerment Secret

1

Where will I get the power, motivation and insights to align EVERY action to the riches I REALLY want?

For some time, SSA researched how people can empower themselves to reach their full potential and enjoy the riches they REALLY want from life. Investigation into the lives of outstanding people revealed an exciting discovery. We will use this discovery for the rest of this program. You can use this discovery daily for the rest of your working days and beyond to optimize your inner fulfillment and do what most people believe impossible, align EVERY action to the riches you REALLY want. Michael Dell (1965)

In 1983, a young Michael Dell realized there was a lot of profit to be made in selling computers for $3,000 when the parts only cost $700. As he says in his book, Dell Direct, "I started the business with a simple question: How can we make the process of buying a computer better? The answer was: Sell computers directly to the end customer. Eliminate the resellers markup and pass those savings on to the customers." That question and answer has made Michael Dell one of the youngest and most admired CEO billionaires in the world today.

Henry Ford (1863-1947) In the last part of the 1800s and early 1900s, entrepreneurs around the world were asking themselves, "How can I build a luxurious horseless carriage that will capture a significant part of the lucrative auto market and make millions?" Ford changed the question. Ford asked what turned out to be a more empowering question, "How can I build an inexpensive horseless carriage that even my working people can afford?" To accomplish this, he created the assembly line a significant simplification of the production process. In asking a more empowering question, he not only made millions but billions of dollars. The Ford Foundation only a part of the Ford fortune is worth over six billion dollars today.

Thomas Edison (1847-1931) Edison searched for many years for a material that would glow when it conducted electricity. It was only when he reversed his question to, "What material will resist electricity and glow?" that he invented the light bulb. By reversing his question to a more empowering one, he gave mankind the light bulb and made a tremendous fortune in the process.

This is the empowerment of self and others.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) Da Vinci was a famous genius and had great resources at his disposal. One of his questions was, "How can I fly?" He drew diagrams of how it might be done. But the question did not empower him to another great success. Why? His timing was off. He was 400 years too early!

Wright Brothers (Orville 1871-1948; Wilbur 1867-1912) In Dayton, Ohio, there were two brothers who were not accepted as geniuses. They were not famous. They did not have tremendous resources at their disposal. They were only bicycle mechanics. But, they asked the right question at the right time. They asked the same question da Vinci asked four centuries earlier, "How can I fly?" With the help of the newly invented gasoline engine, asking the right question at the right time empowered them to be the first to fly.

Socratic Method

About 400 B.C. Socrates taught his followers Philosophy by just asking them questions. Questions have the ability to motivate and guide a person. They also have the ability to generate energy to take action, thus we call them empowering.

Our Brains

Our brains are like very powerful computers. Whenever we ask ourselves a question, our brains will come up with an _ _ _ _ _ _ !

It might be the wrong answer, like da Vincis, but our powerful computer brains will come up with an answer.

Where does the meaning of our actions come from?

Actions And Value

Actions in and of themselves do _ _ _ have value. For example, take the simple act of flipping a switch. Someone could flip a switch to turn on the light in a room. That is a routine act with little or no emotional overtones. A second person flipping the switch could be the President lighting his first Christmas tree on the White House lawn, a positive event with possibly significant emotional overtones. A third person flipping a switch could be the executioner flipping the electric chair switch. This action could be of significant value to those who feel justice is served. It could bring positive and negative emotions for many. It could literally be life concluding for another. The action was the same in each event, but the purpose and the emotional overtones were very different. Our actions receive their value from the purpose to which they are directed.

Take-Home Value: The Value Of Our Actions

Value From Purpose

Figure A Figure B

V

In Figure A, the person lacks a clear mission or purpose. There is little meaning or _ _ _ _ _ available from this unclear purpose.

In Figure B, the persons actions are connected to a clear and important mission or purpose. There is an _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ of values available to give the actions meaning.

Recall The Critical Basics

The inner-fulfilled person is active, doing meaningful things, with a sense of progress. Put an A or a B in the following blocks depending on which person has more... 1. Motivation to act ... 3. Possibility of a sense of progress ...

2. Meaning given to an action ...

1 + 2 + 3 = Inner Fulfillment Since inner fulfillment is being active, doing meaningful things with a sense of progress, who has more inner fulfillment?

Take-Home Value:

Our Mission Or Purpose

It is to OUR ENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST to make our mission or purpose for work and living as _ _ _ _ _ (value-_ _ _ _ ) as possible.

The greater the value in our purpose the more riches we can get from our actions.

Questions To Ponder If a person receives little riches from their individual actions, what does it say about the richness and value of their purpose? Or might it say that the connection between the actions and the purpose is not clear?

You probably have heard this song many times. This time, pay special attention to the words. Let the son be a symbol for your personal life. Cat's In The Cradle1 My child arrived just the other day. He came to the world in the usual way. But there were planes to catch and bills to pay. He learned to walk while I was away. And he was talkin ,,fore I knew it, and as he grew Hed say "Im gonna be like you, Dad, You know Im gonna be like you." My son turned ten just the other day. He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on lets play. Can you teach me to throw?" I said, "Not today I got a lot to do." He said, "Thats O.K." And he walked away but his smile never dimmed And said, "Im gonna be like him, yeah, You know Im gonna be like him." Well he came from college just the other day So much like a man I just had to say "Son, Im proud of you can you sit for awhile." He shook his head and said with a smile "What Id really like Dad is to borrow the car keys See you later. Can I have them please?" Ive long since retired. My sons moved away. I called him up just the other day. I said, "Id like to see you if you dont mind." He said, "Id love to Dad if I can find the time. You see my new jobs a hassle and the kids have the flu But its sure nice talking to you, Dad, Its been sure nice talking to you." And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me Hed grown up just like me. My boy was just like me. And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon "When you comin home son?" "I dont know when, but well get together then. You know well have a good time then."
