June is the month of graduations for our Parish - our Eighth Graders, our High School Seniors, and our College Graduates. I congratulate each of you on achieving your goals at each level of Education. Work and persistence and following your dream of graduation made it all possible. To each of you success as you move along in life and find what has to be done with your life. Enjoy the accomplishments that you have achieved and look forward to what you have to do to meet the challenges ahead. My best wishes and congratulations. Sincerely, Fr. Leo

ST. BERNARD MAUSOLEUM

DEATH....it is something that we don't want to think about. But there is a way to plan ahead and help to ease your family's grieving process. Think about Pre-Need by purchasing a Mausoleum space in the new St. Bernard Mausoleum. Crypt spaces are available for either one, two or a family. Please call the Parish Office to discuss options. We will be happy to help you in your selection. The New Mausoleum also has niches available for cremains. If a space in the Mausoleum is not what you may be interested in, you may want to consider a Pre-Need cemetery grave plot for in-ground burial. It makes sense to be prepared and not have to worry about such things.

CHOOSE LIFE

A veteran researcher into post-abortion trauma, David Reardon, writes that some abortionists readily admit feelings of guilt. "I do feel you're an abnormal person if you could really honestly say that abortion didn't bother you at all," said one abortionist he interviewed. "It goes against all things which are natural. It's a termination of life, however you look at it." LifeDate, Lutherans for Life newsletter, Spring, 1998

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE

Today's gospel is Jesus' "Walk the Talk" speech challenging us to be who we profess to be. Build your family on fidelity: to God, your family and self. Then you will have foundation to withstand the "rains, floods and winds" of life.

SPONSOR OF THE WEEK

SAVE THOSE BOX TOPS!

St. Bernard School participates in the Box Tops for Education Campaign. The students have the potential to earn thousands of out-of-community dollars by collecting Box Tops. We have a collection box in the back of church for YOUR Box Tops, which can be found on hundreds of items such as Kleenex, Cheerios, Ziploc bags and many other items. Each Box Top that you turn in earns 10 cents for the school. Simply cut out the Box Tops and leave them in the collection box at church. You can also donate any loose change rolling around in your purse! The students at St. Bernard thank you. Please call the school at 368-5302 with any questions. Thought for the Week: Remember that happiness is as contagious as gloom. It should be the first duty of those who are happy, to let others know their gladness. Marucie Maeterlinck
