A Prayer for Mothers

All-Loving God, We give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old. We pray for young mothers, who give life and count toes and tend to our every need; May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy. We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us; May they continue to guide in strong and gentle ways. We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away. We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion. We remember mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.

Living God's Word

We may feel that our faith is too new or that we don't pray enough to witness the forgiveness of sins available through Christ. But we who have been clothed and anointed with the Spirit don't need anything else. We can go forth with confident hope to witness that Christ will keep his promise of eternal life.

_____________________________________ An Emmaus Journey An Open Invitation to All Men of the Parish _____________________________________

2013 Men's Emmaus Dear Men of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton: Everyone needs to take time away from the "hustle and bustle" of today's world. And that's the reason for this letter. To the men of this parish, we are offering the perfect opportunity to not only take time from the busyness of day-to-day life but gifting yourself with time to reflect on your spiritual life as well. By attending the upcoming Emmaus journey, you will experience God and truly deepen your relationship with the Lord. The Emmaus journey is an experience where men are ministered to by other men and it is based on the Gospel of Luke 24:13-35. In this Scripture passage, two disciples meet the Lord on their way to the village of Emmaus after His resurrection and recognize Him in the breaking of the bread. I encourage the men of the parish, ages 25 and older, to prayerfully consider setting aside the weekend of June 7th, 8th, and 9h for this journey which will be held here at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. You will make new friendships and you will return to your home and workplace refreshed and renewed. The Men of Emmaus have spent many hours in preparation for a successful journey for you. Applications for the journey are currently being accepted and will continue through June 4th. Registration on the patio for the retreat will begin next weekend, after all masses, and continues every weekend through June 2nd. Please don't let the $125.00 registration fee stand in your way. Full and partial sponsorships available and kept in strict confidence. Call Richard Sill at 954-494-4305 or Robert Lopez at 954-461-1391 to make any necessary arrangements. Take advantage of this opportunity and don't let this journey to get to know our Lord and to travel the road to Emmaus with Him pass you by. Fill out the application and mail or drop it to the Parish Office. Yours in Christ,

Rev. Edward M. Kelly Pastor
