St. Rose of Lima Mission Statement

We, the Catholic community of St. Rose of Lima Parish, are united in partnership with God whose enduring love enables us to live our mission of service through prayer and full participation in the sacramental life of the church. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to respond as stewards of God's gifts, to cultivate peace, justice, respect and reverence for all human life and all creation, to promote ongoing conversion by bringing God's love to others as Jesus did.

Ladies of St. Anne CCW Meeting

The June meeting of the Ladies of St. Anne CCW will be held on June 10th at 1 p.m. in the lower church hall. Refreshments will be served. All ladies of the parish are invited. BINGO WILL BE PLAYED AND PRIZES AWARDED

Mutual Respect. That a culture of dialogue, listening, and mutual respect may prevail among peoples. New evaNgelizatioN. That where secularization is strongest, Christian communities may effectively promote a new evangelization.

Prayer Intention for June

Holy Mary, star of the new evangelization, make us the light of the world. We receive Christ in the Eucharist; help us build the Kingdom in the world. Teach us to do whatever He tells us. May our study of His life lead us to love Him, and our love for Him lead us to imitate Him. If we are what we should be, we will set the world ablaze and affect the culture. We ask your intercession to make this so, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Month

From the beginning, this one Church has been marked by a great diversity which comes from both the variety of God's gifts and the diversity of those who receive them. Within the unity of the People of God, a multiplicity of peoples and cultures is gathered together. Among the Church's members, there are different gifts, offices, conditions, and ways of life. `Holding a rightful place in the communion of the Church there are also particular Churches that retain their own traditions.' The great richness of such diversity is not opposed to the Church's unity. Yet sin and the burden of its consequences constantly threaten the gift of unity. And so the Apostle has to exhort Christians to `maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace'" (CCC, n. 814). (CCC, n. 814)

Stewardship - June 9, 2013

God's power is revealed in many ways. Today's readings reflect this power in life-changing ways. In two instances, life is restored. In another, a life is literally changed. God desires us to have life. Are we taking advantage of this gift from God and living it to the fullest? Through Time, Talent, and Treasure, we give back to God from what he gives to us.

fr. Bob Duda and the parishioners of St. Rose would like to thank everyone that made a donation to St. Rose in memory of Louis Sebastiani. The money donated will be a big help toward upcoming repairs to the roof of the church.

We are looking for donations for the outdoor kids games prizes, such as stuffed animals, footballs, kids jewelry, stickers, or books. If you have any of these items that you would like to donate, please bring them to the church office. Thank you for all your support. We had a great turnout at our meeting with many new faces!

The day came when God called him home. St. Peter greeted him, but told him he couldn't bring his suitcase in with him. "I have an agreement with God that I can take it with me," the man explained. "That's unusual," St. Peter said. "This has never happened before. Mind if I take a look?" The man opened the suitcase to reveal the shining gold bullion. "Pavement!" the amazed St. Peter exclaimed.
