DESCRIPTIONS OF LEVELS OF WORK Level I: Financial Aid Adviser I 0051 Employees at this level interview applicants for and recipients of student financial aid. They work under direct supervision from a designated supervisor. A Financial Aid Adviser I typically ­ 1. assists in interviewing applicants, parents, and other interested persons regarding need for and participation in student financial-aid programs assists in determining eligibility of applicants for available financial aid assists in interpreting and explaining availability of jobs, loans, and scholarships interprets procedures and criteria for qualification of applicants assists in student employment placement assists in preparing necessary forms assists in maintaining permanent records, accounts, and personal history files performs other related duties as assigned

Level II: Financial Aid Adviser II 0052 Employees at this level interview applicants for and recipients of student financial aid. They work under general supervision from a designated supervisor.

Level III: Financial Aid Adviser III 0053 Employees at this level provide major assistance in carrying out supervisory and technical functions in the management of student financial-aid programs. They work under general supervision from a designated supervisor. A Financial Aid Adviser III typically ­ 1. assists, as delegated, in the supervision of staff engaged in the reception, interviewing, counseling, testing, and processing of applicants for financial aid assists in furnishing technical advice participates in technical phases of operation assists in the development and implementation of intra-office procedures prepares or supervises the preparation of statistical, operating, and planning records and/or reports participates in the evaluation of operational efficiency of staff conducts in-service training and staff meetings as delegated develops and maintains good relations with employees, department heads, and general public performs other related duties as assigned

They work under administrative supervision from a designated administrator. A Financial Aid Adviser IV typically ­ 1. 2. is responsible for the management of all phases of operation of student financial-aid programs supervises staff engaged in the reception, interviewing, counseling, testing, and processing of applicants for financial aid furnishes technical advice participates in technical phases of operation develops and implements intra-office procedures supervises the preparation of statistical, operating, and planning records and/or reports evaluates operational efficiency of staff conducts in-service training and staff meetings develops and maintains good relations with employees, department heads, and the general public performs other related duties as assigned
