Touch Typing & Keyboarding

We focus on developing `touch typing' skills in order for you to build the typing speed and accuracy required for today's competitive job market. You will also be given guidance on document layout to an advanced level including display and business letter formats, envelopes, minutes, memorandums, circulars, legal documents etc. * Dictaphone/audio typing will also be taught.

Computer Training

These practical "hands on" computer workshops will give you confidence and advanced knowledge in a variety of software packages. Training includes: · An introduction to PCs and Windows · Outlook Express · Microsoft Word for Windows 7.0 · Microsoft Excel 7.0 · Microsoft PowerPoint 7.0 · An introduction to M.Y.O.B.

The College will give full recognition and credit transfers to students who hold current, equivalent computer qualifications.

Switchboard Training

Comprehensive and practical based training on two popular switchboards: the Commander and the latest Panasonic telephone system.

Business Etiquette Telephone Etiquette

In conjunction with your switchboard training you will be taught how to develop a telephone technique that is both confident and professional. Our special telephone workshops include training in the following areas: · Knowing what to say and how to say it · Prioritising calls · Message taking · Dealing with difficult callers · Developing a pleasant and confident sounding voice (ie: diction, modulation, rate of speech etc.) You will learn the appropriate way of behaving in all types of social and business situations including: · Meeting and greeting clients confidently (ranging from unexpected callers to VIPs) · Making introductions, shaking hands, etc. · The art of successful networking · An understanding of other cultures

Interview Preparation

Our Placement Consultant will teach you how to write your resumé and employment application letters. You will also receive individual assistance in how to market your skills and experience effectively, handle all types of interview questions and make a positive first impression.
