FATMAN A-ARMS

These custom made a-arm sets are jig assembled for accuracy and TIG welded from heavy wall tubing for high strength. Each set is custom fabricated to accept the stock shocks and springs and can be used with stock spindles or with 2" dropped Fatman spindles, which can be ordered separately. All Fatman a-arm sets are sold in sets of 4 and include all bushings and ball joints.

Strut Front Frame & Suspension Packages

S&W's strut front frame package is designed to simplify installation for the do-it-yourselfer. The base frame package features mandrel formed 2" x 3" frame rails, rear lower control arm mounts, a fully welded rack & pinion crossmember with front lower control arm mounts and a front subframe support package to tie the frame rails to the roll cage. . Complete installation requires the use of an upper strut mounting kit. This kit can be used with any eye mount, Strange strut package.

STRUTS OR A-ARMS?

When choosing a front suspension package for your race car, keep these things in mind. Coil over shock - tubular a-arm suspensions are generally more versatile, due to their longer suspension travel. Longer suspension travel will allow you more range of tuning adjustments for better traction on slippery tracks. On the other hand, strut front ends take up less engine compartment space. This is of major importance in large engine / small car applications where header and steering column space is at a minimum. Although a strut front suspension is a little lighter, both a strut front or a tubular a-arm front frame & suspension system will take a substantial amount of weight off the front of your race vehicle.

Strange Struts

The ultimate suspension for any full bodied race car is the Strange front strut. All Strange struts feature fully adjustable KONI cartridges with a large 7/8" shaft and the same SPA-1 valving found on all KONI drag racing shocks. These struts are sold in sets with complete brake kit, springs, and a tubular lower control arm kit.

Light Duty Front A-Arm Frame & Suspension Package - Pinto Type

One of the best ways to remove unwanted weight from your drag race "doorslammer" is S&W Race Cars tubular a-arm/coil-over front frame and suspension package. This package will take up to 300 pounds off the front end of your race car, helping to equalize weight bias while reducing stress and strain on the component parts. In addition to the weight savings, you get the benefits of a fully adjustable "zero-bump steer" front suspension with coil over shocks for the ultimate in adjustability and consistency. The rack and pinion steering eliminates the sloppy original steering box and offers added header clearance by moving all the steering components forward of the motor. Part number 36-000, frame rail and crossmember package features all brackets completely fixture welded to the frame rails insuring proper alignment of all critical suspension mounts. The rack & pinion crossmember is cut to width and the support tubes are notched and cut for easy installation. Shipping these components separately makes the entire package FEDEX-able, saving you money on freight charges.

Extreme Duty Front A-Arm Frame & Suspension Package - Mustang II Type

S&W Race Cars all new, extreme-duty, a-arm front frame & suspension package is specifically designed to withstand the loads applied by both heavy weight E.T. race cars and even the heaviest Pro/Streeter. Although similar in appearance to our popular "Pinto style" a-arm front, the differences are quite substantial. This frame features 2" x 3" mandrel formed frame rails made from heavy duty .120" wall tubing. All brackets are precision, waterjet cut from 3/16" steel. Also included in each package is a floor x-brace kit for added support. More support comes from a pair of front subframe supports, to tie into your roll cage and a pair of shock support tubes (not shown in photo). This frame package uses easy to find Mustang II spindles (not included) or S&W fabricated spindles, Mustang II rack & pinion and either QA1 or KONI coil over shocks. Tubular a-arm packages are powder-coated for a durable and attractive finish. In addition to the weight savings, you get the benefits of a fully adjustable, "zero-bump-steer" front suspension with coil over shocks for the ultimate in adjustability and consistency. FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS

Torsion Bar Assembly

S&W torsion bars are designed to provide limited front end travel for dragsters and altereds. Splined 35-015 ends allow for adjusting pre-load and ride height. The steel housing tube is strong enough to be used as a structural part of the chassis. Torsion assemblies are available for altereds & roadsters which feature a 26" width and comes with two 5" arms or for dragsters which is 20" wide and utilize 6-3/8" arms.
