Replication Server (RS) administration is managed through the Replication Manager (RM) Plug-in. These GUI components, along with the InstallAnywhere UI for installation (of both RS and the RM Plug-in), have been evaluated under Section 508 Accessibility Guidelines, applying section 1194.21 for Software Applications and Operating Systems. Testing was performed on MS Windows XP, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008

Replication Server GUI Utilities

RM plug-in and InstallAnywhere (install and uninstall) were evaluated. Section 1194.21 Software Applications and Operating Systems - Detail Voluntary Product Accessibility Template Criteria (a) When software is designed to run on a system that has a keyboard, product functions shall be executable from a keyboard where the function itself or the result of performing a function can be discerned textually. Supporting Features Supported with Exceptions: The RM Plug-in supports all commonly used keyboard functions. The Installer does not fully support all keyboard functions. · RM Plug-in: Supports the following operating system accessibility features: · Large user selected fonts · Screen magnifier · On-Screen keyboard · Third-party screen readers must support Java assistive technology · Keyboard shortcuts · High-contrast settings · Visible focus on objects · StickyKeys, MouseKeys, and FilterKeys RM Plug-in: Does not fully support the following operating system accessibility features: · Screen reader: Announces headers but does not announce contents of all tree view objects or dialogs. Online help system may not be announced correctly. Installer: Supports the following operating system accessibility features: · Screen magnifier · On-Screen keyboard · Third-party screen readers must support Java assistive technology · Visible focus on objects · StickyKeys, MouseKeys, and FilterKeys Remarks and explanations

Keyboard shortcuts are not available or selections are not registered on all installer panels.

(b) Applications shall not disrupt or disable activated features of other products that are identified as accessibility features, where those features are developed and documented according to industry standards. Applications also shall not disrupt or disable activated features of any operating system that are identified as accessibility features where the application programming interface for those accessibility features has been documented by the manufacturer of the operating system and is available to the product developer.

Supported with Exceptions: · RM Plug-in and Installer do not disrupt or disable accessibility features of the operating system, but they do not fully support some of the standard assistive technology features.

Installer: Does not fully support the following operating system accessibility features: · Large user selected fonts: Font size on installer panels remains unchanged · Screen reader: Does not announce most dialogs. · Keyboard shortcuts: Not available on all panels · High-contrast settings: Background color of installer panels remain unchanged

(c) A well-defined on-screen indication of the current focus shall be provided that moves among interactive interface elements as the input focus changes. The focus shall be programmatically exposed so that Assistive Technology can track focus and focus changes. (d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to Assistive Technology. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text. (e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance. (f) Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes. (g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes.

Supported with Minor · Exceptions: Visual on-screen focus and tracking is provided throughout all the components.

RM Plug-in and Installer: Windows screen magnifier does not follow the focus when moving between fields using the tab key.

Fully Supported: Text is associated with each element and all images have an associated text description in the RM Plug-in and Installer.

Fully Supported: Standard and consistent images are utilized throughout the RM Plug-in and Installer.

Supported with Minor Exceptions: Operating system settings for text · content, caret location, and text attributes are used by the RM Plug-in and Installer. Text attributes such as font and font size cannot be set on dialogs.
