Timothy Haught Timothy Haught started his career in governmental service when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. During his eight years of service, he was a member of elite Marine Corps Reconnaissance units and obtained the rank of Sergeant meritoriously prior to his honorable discharge. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps he was appointed as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During his 20-year career with the FBI, Mr. Haught was a FBI S.W.A.T. operator, FBI Sniper, Firearms Instructor, Police Instructor, Street Survival Instructor, Rappel Master, and Overseas Operations/Security Instructor. Mr. Haught has experience in a broad range of FBI investigative programs to include, violent crimes, gangs, organized crime, drug trafficking organizations, intelligence and counterterrorism. Mr. Haught was the case agent on some of the FBI's most significant cases. He planned and led investigations of violent Gangs, Organized Crime syndicates operating internationally and designated Terrorist Organizations operating globally. As FBI Training Director, Mr. Haught designed and implemented FBI course work for several police departments and the United States Marine Corps, to include a International Training Program that was adopted by the FBI Academy. Mr. Haught conducted Extraterritorial International Terrorism Investigations globally for several years and worked in high threat environments thru out the world. He formed and led International Terrorism Task Forces with foreign partners and was successful in locating, arresting and obtaining U.S. indictments on foreign terrorists. He served as FBI crisis manager during critical incidents. Due to his operational skills, Mr. Haught was selected as the FBI's Critical Incident Response Group's/Hostage Rescue Team Unit's representative to the United States Marine Corps by FBI Director Mueller, and provided tactical expertise in urban warfare to U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Units. Assigned to the Special Operations Training Group (SOTG), Mr. Haught's expertise ensured special operation's capability and combat readiness of Marine Special Forces for the February 2003 invasion of Iraq. In 2004, Director Mueller appointed Mr. Haught as FBI Legal Attaché, U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During this tenure, Mr. Haught opened the FBI Legat Office in Malaysia and worked closely with foreign police departments in conducting counterterrorism investigations thru out Southeast Asia. Mr. Haught retired from the FBI in 2007. Mr. Haught has vast global investigative experience, is well traveled and very knowledgeable on several cultures and languages. He obtained his B.P.A. in Criminal Justice, is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA, and obtained his M.A. in Diplomacy/Military Studies from Hawaii Pacific University, where he completed his thesis on Rebellion, Resistance and Terrorism in the Philippines.
