On the day local Taping Crews, will close and tape gates and place tape across all roads and driveways without a gate. This is a Governing Body requirement, and due to the time needed to do this will likely occur prior to road closure. You will still be able to exit your property prior to closure time but no later. If you have to lower tapes prior to road closure we would appreciate, if you could put the tapes back in place. An Audit tape check will follow. Please be aware that there will be vehicles travelling the stage at speed once the road is closed. Targa official safety cars with flashing lights and sirens will travel the stage to check for clearance. No "normal" traffic may use the road during the official road closure times After all the competitors have completed the stage, which may be prior to the approved official road closure time, a Sweep vehicle with flashing lights and "Sweep" on it will re-open the road for normal use and the tape will be removed shortly after. Arrangements should be made to advise friends who may visit and those making commercial or farming appointments. PLEASE DO NOT stand or park vehicles on intersections that competitors may have to use as an escape road if they are unable to stop. Always stand in a safe place, supervise your children and listen to the Marshals instructions. Please respect sensible safety rules in case a vehicle leaves the road. Emergency services have been advised of the closure and safety services including Marshals and an Ambulance Team attend every stage. The Dunlop Targa Event is co-ordinated via an extensive radio network and in the case of an unexpected emergency such as fire, accident or illness involving you or your family these services are available by contacting the Targa emergency number: 0800 827 427 If you have any further queries or if any damage occurs to your property as a result of the Targa Event that you feel should be reported, would you please contact us as below.
