Option 1: Poster

Preparation: Print out the worksheet below and enlarge it to make a poster. Procedure 1. Ask the students the following 2 questions: "Are you from Viet Nam? & Where are you from?" Highlight the difference between a Yes/No question & a `Wh' question. 2. Write: How much, Where, Why, Whose, How, What, When & How many up on the board. Ask the students, in groups, to brainstorm one question for each. 3. Nominate students from each group to ask students in the other groups their `brainstormed' questions. 1. Put the poster up on the board and ask students, in pairs, to discuss and match the question words at the top to the questions below. 2. 2. Arrange the students in pairs and tell them to formulate questions based on the above answers. Do one example with them, e.g. Answer: On Monday Question (suggested): When are you going to Ha Long Bay? 3. Once they have finished; students change partners and write their own true list of 8 answers. They then switch lists and ask each other their formulated questions.
