Collective Agreement Teknikavtalet Unionen/ Sveriges Ingenjörer 2012-2013 and Teknikavtalet Industrifacket Metall 2012-2013 New agreements have been reached on wages, salaries and general terms of employment between Teknikarbetsgivarna, IF Metall, Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer and apply from the 1st of February 2012 to the 31st of March 2013. Teknikarbetsgivarna and IF Metall and Unionen/ Sveriges Ingenjörer have also concluded agreements to the effect that the old agreements regarding terms and conditions (the Teknikavtalet agreements) are valid until the 31st of January 2012.

Equivalence of the Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer Agreements vis-à-vis the IF Metall Agreement 2010-2011 The Teknikavtalet Agreements 2010 for Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer were four months shorter than the Teknikavtalet IF Metall. The parties have agreed to achieve equivalence, a so-called bridging, between the Agreements for these four months from level- and cost-aspects. The difference between the wage and salary agreements from the cost-aspect, due to the white collar agreements having shorter periods of applicability, was 0.6 per cent. In the agreements of 2010 there was a commitment to a possible future system of individual competence savings accounts, which at introduction would provide 0.2 per cent. The parties have agreed that such a system will not be implemented, thus the 0.2 per cent shall instead take the form of salary. The equivalence, regarding the four months, and the 0,2 per cent in lieu of a system of individual competence savings accounts, is handled in the salary kitty in the new Teknikavtalet. The salary kitties which shall be formed for Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer respectively according to the new Teknikavtalet Agreements on the 1st of February 2012 shall thus be increased by 0.8 per cent. From the 0.8 per cent part of the kitty, 0.6 per cent shall be paid out with retroactivity from the 1st of May 2011. (All the described arrangements relate to the Agreements signed in 2010 and the bridging between the Agreements 2010 and the Agreements 2012.) Where the Teknikavtalet Unionen is applicable a full-time employee shall, unless the local parties agree otherwise, be guaranteed a salary increase of at least SEK 98.

Wage and salary Agreements Teknikavtalet Unionen/Sveriges Ingenjörer On the 1st of February 2012 the company shall set aside a salary kitty corresponding to 2.5 per cent of the fixed cash salaries of its salaried employees as a group at the time the kitty is created. In addition to this, 0.8 per cent shall be added in accordance with the bridging of Agreements 2010 to Agreements 2012, constituting in total 3.3 per cent.

A joint salary review shall take place on the 1st of February 2012. The joint salary review will be effected with reference to the salary principles of the agreement and through individual salary adjustments, based on the employee's competence and work tasks, in order to achieve the desired salary structure. Regarding members of Unionen, a check shall be made of the salary development during the period of application of the agreement on the 1st of October 2012. The salary increase per month for a fulltime employee for the period shall then be at least SEK 395. Teknikavtalet IF Metall On the 1st of February 2012 a wage pool of 3.0 per cent of the monthly wages for the workers shall be created at each plant. The agreement's minimum wages, minimum holiday pay, compensation for work during inconvenient hours and overtime supplements, wages for school holiday work and money factors will be adjusted upwards by 3.0 per cent. On the 1st of October 2012 a check shall be made of the wage development during the period of application of the agreement regarding the period from the 1st of February 2012 to the 1st of October 2012. The wage increase per month for a full-time worker shall then be at least SEK 395.

Negotiating procedure The parties have agreed on a new negotiating procedure, replacing the previous one (more information will be available soon at www.teknikforetagen.se). To a large extent this negotiating procedure is identical to the Teknikavtalet IF Metall negotiating procedure, but there are some differences. One change compared to the previous negotiating procedure is that after a local negotiation according to Sections 11 or 12 of the Co-Determination at the Workplace Act (MBL), a request for a central negotiation must reach the other party no later than one week from the day the local negotiation was closed, instead of the previous two weeks. The same applies in the case of disputes over confidentiality pursuant to Section 21 and as regards negotiations prior to the engagement of subcontractors pursuant to Section 38 of the Co-Determination at the Workplace Act (MBL).
