The Temple GI Motility Team

Henry P. Parkman, M.D., is Director of Temple University Hospital's GI Motility Laboratory. Dr. Parkman initiated the use of gastric electrical stimulation at Temple and is one of the most experienced in its use. Robert S. Fisher, M.D.,Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital, is Director of the Functional Gastrointestinal Disease Center. Dr. Fisher has developed a regional and national reputation as an astute diagnostician and investigator for patients with difficult to treat abdominal pain, dyspeptic symptoms and motility disorders. John E. Meilahn, M.D., specializes in a variety of gastrointestinal surgeries, especially laparoscopic procedures. In addition to his role in the Gastric Electrical Stimulation Program, he performs bariatric surgeries for obesity and Nissen fundoplication for gastroesophageal reflux disease.
