Deaf Across Leeds Enablement Service

Support Service for Deaf, Hard of Hearing & Deafblind Adults in Leeds

From 13th June, 2011, a new support service will be delivered across Leeds, which aims to help adults aged 18+ who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deafblind and whose hearinglosscausesdifficultyfor independent living. The new service, called DALES, is funded by Leeds City Council and is delivered by BID Services, with support from Sense and SignHealth.

AIMS OF THE SERVICE The aim of the service is to provide high quality community based services which meets the needs of Leeds service users affected by deafness. In particular, the service will focus on: · Needs led assessments · Improving health and wellbeing · Making a positive contribution · Increasing choice and control · Taking action to ensure freedom from discrimination or harassment · Improving economic wellbeing · Maintaining personal dignity and respect Our opening hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am - 4:30pm We can communicate with you in a range of ways, including British Sign Language, Braille, Audio and Large Print.
